Keto eating
A keto diet is well known for being a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. Yep! I went KETO around summer 2016 and am down 96lbs and off daily insulin injections! My 1 yr checkup is 1 Feb 2017(I was told 2-5 years to live 1yr 6 days ago). My sugar went from 345 to 95 in a year! KETO ON BABY!

For those of you on Low-Carb diets
w o w . . . . just wow.... @lo-carbKaren, If something works for you, and your Dr isn't making you stop....don't stop. My Dr is the one to point me this way, and he continuously monitors my progress, and 50g carbs or less a day is working for me. I have cut all BP meds, statins, insulin in less than 11 months. I only listen to him and my body. This character has ALL his stats hidden, nothing for noobs to observe and strive for. My drum beat says "March on!"

Atkins
My dad tried Atkins and Medifast or something......and he did great. But, when he quit buying their stuff and went back to cooking ( his old ways since he did not LEARN to cook on the "diet" ) for himself, it just piled back on. It has been fun learning to cook "new" or "healthy" with my wife! We always enjoyed food together and now it's just a chapter in our new book. "Life After 50". HAH!

pssshhh....My wife says I get comments all the time...I'm happily married (29 years) and that stuff blows right past me. "huh.....did someone say something?" If it doesn't come from her, I pay no attention. But it is nice every now and then.....

Does Wine Help With Weight Loss?
well.......the site says 1.5 net carbs. I haven't entered into FS yet (I don't remember how many pitchers the ginger syrup made)oops! We made 6 pitchers,(still have some syrup left over) got pretty tipsy together, and still had a loss last week. Overall, very happy-weight still dropping, and tastes better than Michelob Ultra! Tastes close to Mojitos.

Incentive
Yep...I agree. We set up a "20 lb" reward with pics, new clothes, stuff like that.(wife wants a tattoo, don't blame her, may get one also). But, by summer......whole new wardrobe it is. She has dropped from a 14 to a 9! In 2 months! From Dec, I am down 43 lbs....my clothes are just tents now!

EGGS
I love this site! I like how if the data is not available you can input your recipe and IT will count up all the carbs and such! We made some tuna patties and the DB showed like 37 carbs per patty!!! After entering my recipe(well, what we actually ate) made with pork rinds not crackers, it was only 3 carbs a patty! HAH! I have already entered 4-5 recipes to keep track of. Just AWESOME! I have to keep a journal of food(less than 50 carbs a day, per doctor), blood sugar levels for 6 months. This site is a BIG help! On computer, on phone, I can look up carbs anytime!

Diabetes and Gastroparisis
Does any on else have these two opposite eating problems? Diabetes wants more natural veggies, high fiber. Gastroparesis wants cooked veggies, low fiber. Plain food like white bread. Opposite ways ...
