Egg Whites
I was afraid to mention before but the ones here who are doing that also do the crossfit and follow some other diet... I thought it was atkins but I also thought atkins was for the whole egg as well...

Egg Whites
So some folks here in my office eat boiled eggs every morning but toss the yolk. Everything I have ever read sais the yolk is the best part in terms of nutrients and what is most beneficial. I eat 2 boiled eggs in the morning.. I couldn't imagine not having the yolk. Why toss it?

Can I change my entry weight?
welcome! I weigh myself in the am before I shower and at night before bed.. HOWEVER. I only post my drops when they are consistent. I have a 3lb range im always in so I don't bother unless its a consistent change. the yo-yo ing drove me crazy to see on the computer but some like to see it. a lot of folks pick a day and just weigh once a week...

Not dropping
I too have IBS and I find I hold a lot of water inbetween movements due to bloat and are swollen a lot so it tends to be a lot of water weight. when I want to de-bloat and get rid of that excess, I do a light laxative on a day I know I will be home. usually the day or next after I will notice a drop of at least 3 lbs that was all water weight. its not the greatest experience but it works. maybe try one of the cleanses or a fasting??? sorry - that's all I got..

Self control
I feel so much more power when I know I turned something down. my husband was eating chips last night on the couch and I could smell them and it was DELICIOUS> when he put the bag away - I thought - well at least I didn't eat any. I know the feeling of not eating them is stronger than when I do. so I focus on that and turn a cheek :)

metabolism over 40
I don't know if it will help or not but when I feel my metabolism has slowed down... I eat all day. its sound strange but small meals all day long work for me... every hour eat something small... handful of nuts, apple... couple boiled eggs.. span out your calories over the course of a day.. that seems to boost mine. im about to attempt the 16:8 fast where you only eat in an 8 hour window... I am curious as to what that might do for metabolism. Good luck!

How many calories per day?
also - I don't pay attention to my fat. I have no idea what it is, never look at it. basically the carbs and calories are low enough - I know I must be ok because the proof is on the scale :) everyone is different. they do say 50-100 carbs to lose.. less than 50 is ketosis.. I never went under 50.. I stayed around 80-100 and I didn't feel like I was starving... GOOD LUCK!

How many calories per day?
I am 5' and I will 33 next week. I started dieting the start of February this year. I was 146 when I started. I cut to (depending on how serious you are - I was on a mission) - but I cut to 900-1000 calories and no more than 100 carbs and I ensured no less than 60g of protein... I dropped about 15 pounds the first months and another 10 the month of march. I took me no time at all to lose the rest (I am now 117). my maintaining diet is 1000-1200 calories, 100-140 carbs and I still try to keep up my protein. when I go over the 1200 (weekends I am usually 1200-1500 calories, I just do better during the week so that my monthly average stays 1100-1200. I think if you started at 12-1300 calories it would be a good start. if the results aren't fast enough, go a little lower. ... but your height and age I don't think its far off...

I'm hungryy
we eat dinner around 730-8 pm so by the time we eat and watch a show - its bedtime and we are still fairly full from dinner and don't have time to snack.. (we both work and then have to get kids to bed so its less stressful to eat after they are in bed)... could you move your meals out? later lunch and later dinner?

Your Net?
So I have been here a few months. I just started this month entering my exercise (what little I do) and ive recently been swimming. So on my monthly calendar - I understand the - net carbs is that I didn't eat enough for what I burned. I am trying to maintain what I am at so would I be looking to get those numbers as close to 0 on the net? is there a range I should be keeping.. I seem to be under a lot and im no longer looking to lose?

My bloodwork was great!
So I lost a lot of weight quickly and was having a lot of muscle cramps and weakness etc. thought perhaps I was low on iron or potassium etc.. nope all is well. (except my vitamin d which I hear is fairly common to be deficient with so I have added a supplement)... for all my family who thinks I am starving myself ... :P

Dieting and Not Exercising?
I don't exercise much at all. on my lunches I power walk for the 20 of my 30 min lunch and do a little over a mile.. that's 4 days a week. other than housework and chasing my kids everywhere, I don't have time for more than that. but my body seems to agree with it. someday I dream of having more time for exercise.. for now the babes wont let me :(

Low Carb/Low Calorie
Simply, your body will hold onto the fat if you are not taking enough in. up it a bit.. I started very low - about 800 calories and 100 carbs. my carbs have not changed but I have tried to heighten my calories and I seem to lose more. if you are turning any of the fat you have into muscle - you wont see a change on the scale because muscle has weight. add some calories and up those carbs to 100. under 50 carbs can send you into ketosis and that is not only horrible for your body - but your body will hold onto the storage for energy it has... try 1000 calories and 100 carbs.. everone is different. for my height (im short) 1200 is for me to maintain so I subtract 250 calories if im looking to lose. good luck

Growing Weary!!!!!
just peeked at a few of your calendar days.. your carbs are really high with very little protein... theres a dance between these two and you need to find it. everyones body is different but it looks like a recipe for disaster for me. regroup and come with a new plan. check out others calendars and see what they are doing..

I had 3 babies in 5 years and each pregnancy was totally different BUT for my middle pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and was forced to follow their diet. it was TOTALLY easy and I only gained 28 lbs (where the other 2 I gained 35 and 40).. yes you do add 300 calories (I saw a nutritionist when I got diagnosed). the diet is basically this.. you wake up and have one protein and one starch (boiled egg and toast -1 slice, or half an English muffin with peanut butter, etc (I chose multigrain but that's up to you).. hour and a half later I did the same.. 1 of each. for lunch I had 8oz of skim milk, 3 oz protein, 2 fats(tablespoons of dressing or butter etc) with 1 cup veg, I cup fruit and 2 starches (1 starch is one slice of bread or small potato etc... so I would do a wrap which was 1 and then a small handful of chips for fats and starch ;) ) then in the after noon another glass of milk and a protein (I usually had a bowl of green beans) and then repeat the lunch for dinner and then a protein and fruit before bed (I had multigrain cheerios with strawberries in it)... you can look up the ideas online for it. .... but I felt really healthy on it and my weight was on perfect target. if I splurged I took a 30 minute walk (had to for the sugar) but a walk after a meal is always helpful... hope it works out for you! oh and there was no weight to lose from the baby after, just the weight I had on me before I got pregnant...

What does it mean??
so I weigh myself before bed and in the morning. im basically at my goal weight (I teeter here and there). but this passed week I had a baby shower to attend at work and decided to have a few treats. so I went over on my calories and carbs a few days - and each night I was between 122 and 121 and waking much less. so last night I had a cupcake with my kids that I hated myself for.. I was 121.8 before bed a couple hours later. I woke up this morning at 118.6... I have heard a few different theories but all that makes sense to me is that im not allowing my body enough so its holding on to some of the weight until I have some fat/treats and then letting go??? is that whats happenening? my husband says its a metabolism thing but I don't know. any ideas? .. surely cupcakes are not the secret to weight loss lol
