Am I the ONLY person annoyed by Nutri-System commercials???
sherilyn, I really am happy that this is working for you. I can definitely understand the need for convenience. I have 4 kids, 2 dogs, a cat, a mortgage, a wonderful husband, a full time job and I work as an Avon rep so I know how importance convenience is. If 10 years from now when you are off of the program and you are still maintaining while preparing your own meals, I would love to hear more from you on what you learned from your NS experience. How are the NS foods on sodium?

Am I the ONLY person annoyed by Nutri-System commercials???
I have no doubt that some people can lose it with Nutri System and keep it off. HOWEVER, I think the vast majority do not get the education and training about food and calories that they need to maintain their weight loss after leaving the program. If it worked for you and you're keeping it off, that's fabulous! I just don't recommend it because I have witnessed the crash and burn that most people experience after going off of the program. To me, it makes much more sense to educate yourself about nutrition and to make your own food choices. But hey, to each his own.

Beans!
That's what I'm saying! I play this little game with myself where I say, "Kids - this meal was only $1.45 per serving!" kind of like "I drove 1000 miles in 14 hours and 27 minutes". Silly, I know but fun!

Why the BMI (Body Mass Index) Chart is USELESS
I think that the BMI recommendation should be taken as just that...a recommendation. We all know that 130 lbs looks different on a 5'4" couch potato than someone who works out 5 days per week. I look at it as a guideline, or an average. I know that I have huge boobs and wide hips so I'm going to be at the top of that guide as opposed to someone who has a small frame at the same height. If we didn't have the BMI there would be some other "guide" to tell us where we need to be and like it or not, I feel like we as a society need to be guided. I say take it with a grain of salt (no pun intended) and work with your doctor; you'll get where you need to be. :)

Greek Yogurt....
Wow, it took me until I was 25 to even be able to stomach yogurt...and then, I LOVED it. Since I've been on FS, I've had several recommendations to try greek yogurt so I did. If yogurt is an acquired taste then greek yogurt is doubly so. Although the texture was extremely smooth (and I'm easily turned off by textures), it was so thick and heavy that I immediately felt nauseous after eating it both times. Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't think it was for me.

HELP!!!!!!!!! After losing 100+ lbs has anyone else had happy/sad depressed moods????
Wow, that sounds like me each and every day but that's because I'm bipolar. Not every disorder can be measured in units or through blood tests. I know after losing 50 lbs I am still struggling with my inner demons but I suspect that I always will. I'm sure being out of a normal routine (quitting your job, coming back from a long vacation) can cause a significant amount of inner turmoil and mood confusion. I would suggest finding a really good therapist. Losing the weight is only the physical manifestation of what your body has gone through since you began this journey and your inner psyche needs to be tended to as well. Good luck!

Beans!
Ok, I read an article today that has me convinced that I can buy a bag of beans and make something fabulous out of them. Let me clarify and say that I am an accomplished cook but I have steered clear of dried beans my entire adult life. So, now I have a new preoccupation...BEANS and I need help finding delicious, nutritious means for my family. Please, PLEASE, send me any and all fabulous bean recipes! Thanks in advance!

Now That We Care About Our Health, We're Vain?
Some people honestly cannot feel good about themselves unless they're making someone else feel badly about who they are...or who they're becoming. It's unfortunate but true. Like you, I do my best not to talk about it a lot at the risk of annoying people but still, it is OK to say, "Damn, I worked hard, that's how I got here and I'm excited about the person I'm becoming"! You go, girl!

Salt is NOT bad for you.
I have to say that while I believe that sodium is necessary, I also believe that cutting back on the amount I was consuming has made a huge difference in my health. 1/2 teaspoon of salt is half of what you should consume daily...max! I used to use at least that much on my veggies at dinner! Not to mention the fast food I had at lunch or what was already added in the prepackaged meals I made. I was astounded to learn that I had high blood pressure for the first time in my life AFTER losing 35 pounds...how does that happen? Once I started tracking my sodium and reducing the amount that I consumed, I noticed a huge difference. My blood pressure returned to normal and I didn't experience swelling in my fingers. I for one think that we have become so accustomed to adding salt to everything that we are completely oblivious to how much more sodium we are consuming than we should be.

Grocery Bills?
I have a family of 6 but I have noticed two things that have brought my grocery bills down...ordering online and my new lifestyle. It's not much because fruits and veggies are more expensive than hamburger helper :) but overall, I'd say it's down around 10%.

How late is too late?
I think it just depends on the individual. For most people, I really don't think it matters as long as you stay under your RDI for the day. For me, I try not to eat after 7:30 pm. Granted, my day starts at 5 and I'm in bed by 10:30!

Late night sweet tooth
Rnbwgrl is right...when I start craving a snack late at night, I just go for my container of cantaloupe in the fridge. My husband preps it for me as soon as I bring it home from the market, that way it is always available.

Well you'd all be proud...
Pizza and wings...2 things I will never give up. I let myself have 2 slices (usually) or 6 wings. Yum!
