SABOTAGE! Is any one else running Into this?
I totally get it. I totally get it. It is difficult when people around you are like "one bite won't hurt." They don't get that if you eat that 1 bite, you are going to cave, or that it sets you back 3 days as does with atkins. It's difficult. You have to be assertive.

Need advice about travel snacks
I know I've yo-yo'd, but I am back on Atkins to stay. My bunch knows now in no uncertain terms that's what I'm doing. I often have to ride a lot taking my grandmother to doctor's appointments. What can I carry with me to snack on so I do not go too long between meals, and give into temptation of a carby snack? What travels well? I do have a cold bag I can carry with me. I'm just clueless.

I don't know what to do
Thanks for the advice. I know I hadn't been on fat secret in a while. I always ate the flat bread at subway when I would opt for the sandwich instead of the salad thinking it would be less carby. Well, I went on the subway website, and discovered that this added a whopping 20 calories to the sandwich. I think from now on, I will eat salads. I think they're about the same price as a footlong. Do y'all think brown rice would be ok? I like the texture, and I like that I can usually find it in proportioned servings at the store.

I don't know what to do
I hit 400 pounds. I'm 34 years old. I managed for a while not to hit 400 pounds. I know I've yo-yo dieted. I will start a diet, and when I finally start losing weight, my mother orders me to stop. I haven't done anything unsafe. Can anyone give me any ideas to tweak my diet so I can lose weight. I need to find a way to tweak my diet in ways that no one notices.

A quick question about Atkins
I have done this. I know it works. My triglycerides came down. My good cholesterol went up, and my bad cholesterol came down.

Healthy Brown Bag Lunches
Since you are on a budget, you want to get things that can be reused. A small lunch tote, little plastic storage containers. Get some they make ice blocks you can throw in the freezer each night, and reuse the next day. You can take a container, and throw some cut up veggies in it. celery, carrots, cherry tomatoes. You can take a tiny container, and put a little salsa in it to dip your celery in. Some fresh fruits travel better than others, slice them for ease of eating. If you are in a rut were you have to have a sandwich, boil and chop up a chicken breast, put a teaspoon of light miracle whip (miracle whip keeps longer than mayo) a teaspoon of mustard, a little celery. Trust me, it's good. You could just make the chicken salad, and dip the celery in it. You could also use tuna.

Food diary crazy??
Did you log your food after midnight? That could account for posting on the next day. I do not know about the pages being blank if you logged your food. The only human error I can think of is if you forgot to click the button to add it to the diary after you clicked on the food. I do that sometimes.

Screw the Diet: Just Eat Real Food!
Here is what you do. You clip coupons for everything. The money you save on everything you used a coupon on you can use to buy real food. Chicken is not very expensive. Frozen veggies are just as nutritious as fresh, and more nutritious than canned. Watch you local sales circulars for the best deals.

I know what you mean. The other day I got on mine, and it showed me about 200 pounds lighter than what I am. A battery is on the list for my next trip to town.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I recommend weighing in the morning after a potty run, but before eating anything. This gives you an accurate weight. Always wear the same exact clothes, weigh at the same exact time each time. Your body can fluctuate with water weight, and other things. Don't fret over 3 lbs. or less. It's more than likely water weight. I weigh a couple times a week. Most people say 1 time a week.

I like the wii sports that came with the Nintendo wii. I also have wii fit. I've never been able to use wii fit, because when I got it, my weight suddenly went above the 330 pound limit for the board.

Anyone here get heartburn regularly?
I know that a teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of water is good for relieving heartburn, but don't know in your case.

feeling guilty
You don't need to restrict what you eat, you just need to restrict how you eat it. Cheese and milk are good for you. In fact, you should have several servings a day. Eat lean meats, such as chicken, fish, lean cuts of beef, and pork. Legumes are also a good source of protein. Veggies are also good. Keep carrots and celery washed for snacks. You can also put a smear of peanut butter on the celery. Eat lean veggies, such as green beans, broccoli, cauliflower. If it's in the produce section of the supermarket, it's fair game. As far as bread, try to eat whole grain breads and brown rice. Try to avoid refined sugar. Refined sugar has no nutritional value. That being said, it is ok to have something once or twice a week. Do not under any circumstances feel guilty about what you eat. You are you, and nobody else can do this for you. I also say leave the television off, as there's always pressure from the media to be thin. I will tell you, that just because someone is thin, doesn't mean they are healthy. It will eventually catch up with them.

Food Lovers Fat Loss Diet
I paid $17.50 for a book at Wal-Mart, titled The Start Here Diet. I've read a chapter already, and it's not another "don't eat this, don't eat that" type book. She teaches you that it is important to understand what caused you to become obese, beyond the usual eating more than you should. It's written by the same lady who wrote the "Eat Clean" series. She struggled with her weight from the time she was young, until she was in her 40's.
