Losing weight
Absolutely! I have learned more from logging than anything. A fish sandwich may be 400 calories and a salad 600 so may as well eat the fish! Not both anymore that's for sure ;)

I agree! Fitbits are JUNK. I do product claims and my calls are mostly Fitbits and Beats headphones. Overpriced junk....

how to remove rice from diet?
There's a product on called Carb Nada, noodles for low carbers, that's my starchy go to. You won't have the craving for it if you go low carb, I eat white rice now, maybe once a week when my family meets for Chinese food but I log it and keep track of calories.

Needing motivation
It's tough but LOGGING all you eat helps a lot. Even if its something you shouldn't eat, at least you know the calories and may choose something else next time...or not. Just don't give up : )

I drink a couple of bottles of PowerAde Zero everyday. I am sure its very unhealthy but makes me feel like I'm treating myself.

I watched Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off" video on Comcast on Demand last night and made through the entire 4 minutes lol. It's a start : ) I'm going to look for "Hey Ya!" by Outkast.

Welcome Mamma Ria! What helped me most is tracking all my food and weight here. I stay low carb since it stops any cravings and try to keep my daily calories around 1200 (but not that successful).

Confused on calorie intake
I have same dilemma, guess it really varies a lot. We all have different exercise habits, different body frames, metabolism, and probably tons of other variables. I put myself at 1500 calories but dropped it to 1200 calories yesterday because I am stuck. I would see what works and feels right for you : ) ;)

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
Daily again, was trying to go down to once a week since I've stagnated but my scale keeps screaming for attention! I read real weight gain is going up at least 5 lbs so that calmed me down a bit. Just got to keep on logging my food, tracking carbs and watching my calories per day.

Just read up on how coconut oil facilitates weight loss. Going to add 3 TB a day to my diet and see what happens. (I am doing Atkins vegetarian style) Per the article: "Coconut oil is shown to enhance thyroid function. The most amazing thing about Atkins is being able to watch all the food commercials without drooling. With a low fat diet I literally drool during a McDonalds commercial and I NEVER eat at McDonalds. It doesn't even look like food to me (well maybe the pancakes). I did the 1200 calorie diet for 2 months and lost about 11 lbs but then the weight loss stopped so here I am back on Atkins, this time vegetarian style 8)

My breakfast is unsweetened almond milk and low sugar protein powder. After a few hours I have 2 hard boiled eggs so the fat in them really keeps me feeling good mentally and physically. I get bad cravings when I eat sugar and when I don't eat fat, my brain gets sluggish.
