You'll definitely find it online...but if any of the books you did get speak about 5:2 (meaning 2 days fasting and 5 normal healthy eating)you'll get some of the info in them. :) AWW don't feel bad, I'm usually only stuck behind the computer for one day out of the week. :) I do give myself a lunch break, today was a late lunch...on my fasting days I usually have a late lunch and then maybe a hand full of nuts around dinner time. You'll have to let me know if any of the books you got are good reads. :)

Calorie deficit. Which is more important, per day or per week?
Its frustrating...at least for me...being in my late 40's I would of thought the kitchen duties of cooking would of gotten a little bit smoother but that is not so. LOL I think they think its a restaurant...might need to take my "KITCHEN IS CLOSED" sign out again. LOL

HEHEHE!!! mrspackrat....sounds like we have the same household....but seeing as I am the cook of the house...I'm usually making two different meals cause the hubby is also a VERY picky eater. Won't try something new...no casseroles...vegies consist of corn and broccoli and if we have a salad he has only iceberg lettuce with salt no dressing...or he will eat carrots and radishes in his salad only. I wish he would at least try something different cause we do have a little one (6y/o) whom is following in his footsteps. I try to get her to try something and she sees daddy saying no way and she does the same. *sigh*

mrspackrat.....I haven't had the opportunity to watch the entire video but reading the book. I've just started so I'm a newbie at it but I can really see myself living this lifestyle. How do you like it? I will have to check out the group, as you've said the support is very nice to have. :) Thanks for letting me know about it. :)

bickbch....that's great on the walking...I've been stuck behind a computer most of the morning with a few walk abouts. :) I peeked at your diet calendar and noticed you do a lot of very low cal days. You might not be seeing any change because of that...to many days of VLC could be putting your body into starvation mode which could means that your body is not allowing the fat to be burned??? I'm not expert but maybe that could be the situation. When you head to the store be sure to look for "The Fast Diet" that's the book I have, there are others out there but I liked this one because there is also a video (its an hour long) called Eat, Fast and Live Longer (I think you can watch it over the computer, if interested) and the guy in the video is the same guy that wrote the book.

I've just started "The Fast Diet" (which I don't consider a diet at all) which is from the video Eat, Fast, and Live Longer as posted from another poster. I haven't completely finished the book but from research I believe its something like 12-16 hours before your body even goes into starvation mode. I think many folks think of fasting as in not having anything to eat for 24 hours or more and that is not the case. You are eating but staying at the 500 calorie range and then the next day or two you are eating normal. Personally I am doing 3 days of fasting and then the other days normal. And what Kingkeld said is correct, you want to get good foods not a bunch of yuck. :) Last nite I did that, but though I felt full when I woke for my fasting day I also felt bloated so beware of the foods you eat. I'm the type of person that if I'm forced by plan to eat each and every meal, I tend to feel sick to my stomach so this seems to work for me.

kkd...its wonderful that you and your hubby are doing this together. My hubby is as skinny as a rail, but he supports me 100% but the only pain in the butt is that he is the most pickiest eater I have ever come across so most nights I have to cook two meals and then our little one will have a little from each meal. Feels more like a restaurant at our house. HAHA!!

I posted a topic in the group. Figured we can begin our journey by getting to know what we are doing to get this weight off. :)

bickbch....hmmm me thinks the scale is ALWAYS the enemy HEHE!! and that self esteem is a bugger too. I'm slloooowwwlllyyy learning that what matters is what's on the inside not the out. Not just having a good heart but that with this weight I'm not being good to my inside. Sort of did a mental picture of what my body would look like if it was inside out and well that mental picture was NOT a pretty site. :) That 2 lbs will come off, just keep focused. :)

Hi kkd :) Thanks for the buddy request. I had to go with a lower goal or I know I would get discouraged and give up...but I know I've lost 60 lbs before so I know it can be done so I've made that a mini goal...if that's what we want to call it. HA!!

carrollb...Totally agree :) I joined the group...not a lot of activity yet but it will come. :) I read your bio and had to giggle when you spoke of looking into surgery....I did the exact same thing. HA!! I figured if I'm going to have any type of surgery it will be to have the skin if any removed after I lose the weight. :) But what I did do is take some of the ideas of what those that have the surgery must do plus looking at the fast diet. Lost over 3 lbs in less then a week. And actually woke this morning feeling really good. Just thought I'd share. :) but funny how we both said NO WAY to the surgery bit. :)

bickbch....I disagree as well. There is a big difference from losing 10-15lbs compared to those that need to lose over 100. Not saying we don't have the same difficulties with staying on track. But it takes a shorter period of time to lose the 10-15 lbs which does have the advantage of staying focused where as those like myself that want/need to lose over 100 lbs have difficulty staying focused for such a long period of time and I tend to give up. That's why I decided to set smaller goals..ok maybe not so small but I've lost 60 lbs before so I know I can accomplish that. :)

Hi, My goal is to lose more than 100 but I'm making smaller goals to get to my total goal weight. Hopefully that will keep me focused working on smaller goals to get to my main goal.

Carbs and headaches
@HeatherMNoe....Hi and that could be very right because I have really reduced my sugar intake big time. I'm very thankful that they are only mild headaches but can be a bit annoying and of course I'm such a worrywart at times that I start to question why they were there to begin with. :) I will stick with it and pray they go away. :)

Carbs and headaches
@ Chyldblue.......Hi, I'm not very familar with Atkins, I beleive thats high in protein?? I honestly don't feel tired, nor do I get any cravings for carbs, maybe thats due to that I still have some carbs during the day. I just get this mild headache. Maybe its one of those "Just Life" headaches. LOL I've just really noticed this since I've made the changes to my diet and thought that I was missing something. I hope they don't stay around though. :)
