Kettle bells!
They definitely work to target core areas. I've been using it on my abs and arms, and they have definitely been toning up. I've been using them a little over a month now.

Experience with planet fitness?
I love Planet Fitness when I used to be a member. Sadly, there isn't one around here. The staff was very helpful, especially if you didn't understand how to use a machine, or weren't sure where to start. Also, the people and atmosphere is way more friendly than any other gym I've been to.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
Unfortunately, they make the same basic meals for students. Some of the usual items you will find are, burgers, pizzas, fries...that's the regular food. Also pasta and soup, pasta is regular pasta or whole wheat, but the sauces vary from red sauce to alfredo nightly. As for the "main course" it varies nightly, but it's either a pork dish, mashed potatoes, tofu, rice, or some type of meat. Then we have a new station where they have different meals, going from lamb gyros to chilli. If there is chicken on the main course, it's normally fried, everything back there is normally fried. I've been sticking to the salad bar when at school It normally has Spinach leaves (Which is normally the leafy green of choice.) I'm not big on lettuce but they have romaine and red leaf lettuce mix. Peppers, broccoli, shredded carrots, corn, onions, beets, mushrooms, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs mashed up, and cheddar cheese. The source of protein over there is peanut butter, sliced turkey, sliced ham, and if we are lucky cubed baked chicken breast. That's our cafe in a nutshell

I'm slightly confused with my diet
I love the idea of eating non-processed foods, but the meal plan at school doesn't exactly see it that way. I will start adding more fruits and veggies to my diet, but I will need to stretch when it comes to meals at my college. I don't want to live strictly on the salad bar all semester.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
I will try to eliminate the processed foods, but it's kinda hard living in the dorm life. But I can definitely add more greens, vegetables, and fruits.

Strict diets dont work do they?
I've been walking the main roads around my house when not running and it's proven to be pretty effective for me. I switch it up but going different directions or going down side streets.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
I understand that the 700 calories is low, so I guess I'll have to eat food that is higher in calories. When I weighed over 240lbs, I always found myself hungry, but since dropping all the weight, I really just don't find myself very hungry. I have a light breakfast, and a nice dinner. I think my problem lies in the fact that I normally don't have lunch and I should probably start making time for it. I appreciate everyone's input, and I have been researching quite a bit since.

I'm slightly confused with my diet
I will try to increase my calorie intake...I just don't find myself eating as much since I started my new workout routine. I'm not starving myself, I guess I just don't find myself as hungry and maybe it's because of the amount of water I drink. I try to drink at least 8 glasses since I have dropped soda completely for almost 6 months now. I'll have to adjust my diet it seems. :)

I'm slightly confused with my diet
Thanks for the feedback! Mummydee- I normally don't consume margarine, but when I'm home for the holidays, it's what my grandparents have in the house. I'm not big on butter either, I just like something on my english muffin in the morning. I'll switch up the yogurt though as I normally consume that. Saintblackangel- I was pretty surprise by the calories as well. I definitely like the idea of just watching the calories. Thanks!

I'm slightly confused with my diet
Okay, so when I joined here, they started me off with about 3,300 calories a day, but I've already given myself the calorie intake of 1,500, but I rarely ever hit that calorie mark either. 700 seems to be the amount of calories I intake daily and since I started recording (in my other fitness journal) I don't intake anymore than 20g of fat daily normally. However, that being said...my carbs are high. Around the 70 mark range. I've read different things and I am so lost. Are carbs a good thing or a bad thing? My exercise normally includes running since late August, nothing serious, just a couple of miles daily. Weight training, and beginner's yoga. I was told carbs are good for running, but I'm not a marathon runner by any means.

I’m 5’3 and try to maintain current weight of about 104. Anything less and my skin gets kinda loose and gross lol. I have been 125 pounds before though and was healthy at that weight as well.
