I started my weight loss journey about two years ago. I weighed in at 251 pounds, I have lost 75 pounds so far with weight watchers and working out at a local gym. I have 25 more pounds to lose and I will be at my 100 pound weight loss goal. I may want to lose more, but I am just trying to reach that mile stone first. I have been obese for almost my whole life. I ran my first 5K run May 2009. I ran it in 32minutes, not bad for a woman that never ran before. I am now training to run a 10K in May and hoping to reach my 100 pound goal.

I was lost! But I found myself!!!!
Hi everyone,
I have been away from FS for quite sometime! I was down to about 169 pounds in May 2010! I ran a 10K in May and now I bet I couldn't run 1K! I let things slide and now I'm up to 195 pounds! I worked too hard to move away from my starting weight of 251 pounds to give up like this! So, I am back and I know I have to work hard and try not to focus on the past but move forward to reach my goal of 150! Good luck to everyone else out there on their weight loss journey!

how to build into running regimen?
Running is great, You do have to slowly increase your distance and speed. But do this slowly you don't want to hurt yourself. Runners world has a great website with some useful information. I was 251 pounds two years ago and never ran in my life!!!! Last year I ran my first 5k and did it in 32 minutes, and I am no spring chicken LOL! I just turned 38 and I am training for a 10K in May. Hoping to run a full Marathon by the time I'm 40! I Love running, and I never ever thought I would run! Have fun with it. Set small goals and you will feel great as you meet each one! Good Luck!

Anyone lost or trying to lose 75+ pounds?????
I weighed 251 pounds when I first started my journey. I was overweight since I was 6 or 7 years old. Finally two years ago I started my health journey! I have lost 75 pounds so far. I have 25 more to go to get to my 100 pound weight loss goal! I ran my first 5K last may. I ran the whole thing in 32 minutes. It was an amazing feeling. I am now training to run a 10K in May. My ultimate goal is to run a full marathon before I turn 40! This is an amazing website filled with such inspirational people! I hope that 2010 is an amazing year for all of you!
