Finished a 3-day fast to get us back on track, then ate one day and fasted again today.
Nice to see weight still dropping.

Went to an every other day fasting strategy. Then went off the rails and just ate every day for a week. I stayed within the Keto strategy, but we did have a meal out at the Indian place. Occasionally, you just find yourself feeling completely indifferent to your day, just blah, no interest. That's when we went to town and had dinner out. I deliberately included carbs that day. It still takes hours before the serotonin kicks in and I began to feel more balanced and cheerful. But, it did work.
Also, beginning to work out more regularly, as well. Just half a mile walking, 7-80 squats, some rowing and basic weight lifting. Swam yesterday, will work out today walking/weights.
I'm pleased not to have re-gained more than I did and after two days on our current fast, I'm almost back down to my low. Tomorrow will be my last day on the current water fast, then we plan to go to every-other-day fasting for a week. Still feeling like this works.

This intermittent fasting pattern of eating every other day seems to be working well. It also helps with our shopping strategies - eating only every three days causes us to avoid shopping when we are in town and then not having food when we are eating. Rural life can be challenging. Down another pound today, this is awesome!

So, now we've switched to an every-other-day style of fasting. This strategy seems to be more versatile as we travel, work and visit with folks. We can easily skip a day of eating to have a 3-day fast, or bump the schedule a day back to include dinner with friends.
Also, longer fasts are emotionally less satisfying since as your gullet empties you lose weight, but there is a large rebound as you refill your gullet after you begin eating again.
I'm hoping that the regular one-day-on, one-day off style will see less rebound effects.
That being said, the intermittent fasting overall works wonderfully. I haven't been at this weight since some time in the 1980s. In spite of excellent eating strategies, food supplements, regular (sort of) exercise, organic, non-gmo, etc. etc. etc. My desk job and work associated stress just slowly added up. No diet strategy worked. No doctor prescribed diet worked past the medications.
And, I just read a fascinating article that mentioned that even one day on a water fast significantly decreased some of the more challenging biome difficulties related to Cardio Vascular Disease. So, intermittent fasting has a lot to offer. I'm glad I did it!

Vacation and birthday in April. Did pretty well. I had actually scheduled to gain back 10 pounds over my 'holiday' and I didn't do that badly. Most importantly, I stayed mainly keto - so I don't have to recover from too many carbs. So, back on track for fasting in May!
