Building Stamina

Wait, don't you have to take it easy if you're this far along in your pregnancy and something causes you pain?

Hence why I stop if it gets too bad. I do get in a lot of activity from my chores and other things. I know I put "shopping" in my activity log a lot, but to be honest, I only count it as separate from walking because I push the cart around for support. Other than that, I am just trying to incorporate back in something that has worked for me in the past.

My first semester of college, I dropped three pants sizes by walking roughly six miles every day. That and drinking a gallon of water per day. That is what is frustrating. I know what works for me and what works fast, but it was not the healthiest because even though I was losing weight and feeling the best I have ever felt, I was never sleeping enough, and I ate so unhealthy, it makes me nauseous as a mother to think of how I treated my body.

Sorry to ramble. I am just saying, it really is the mental part of me, not my physical inability that is keeping me down. Lol.

Building Stamina

why don't you start with brisk walking and forget about the running, it will help you building stamina and getting used to the activities you are indulging in. it's not about the stamina, it's just a psychiatric issue. You are changing your lifestyle and your subconscious is not accepting it at the moment. So, start with the minimum walk/run until you enjoy it and then stop, take rest and then again go for it, it's a hard task but absolutely possible. you can do it.

Hahaha, yeah. I know I need to take it slow, especially this far along. I am not saying I want to run a marathon and I know I should not be running at all right at this moment. I am just saying, the motivation is there until I actually start. I am trying little steps and I have a written plan to put up next to my treadmill once this baby comes. I really do love walking, I just feel so tired and in a lot of pain these days. But thanks, I will keep working at it.

Building Stamina
Mentally, I am wanting so bad to go run a mile. I get so psyched up and I get my shoes laced up and hop on the treadmill or get outside, and suddenly, no matter how hard I push myself mentally, within two to five minutes, I am in so much pain, I am afraid of injuring myself. Has anyone here built from sedentary to active and can offer me some tips on moving that I may not have tried to mentally stimulate my motivation? "Just get up and do it" is not working anymore. I cannot seem to push over that painful two minute threshold.....

I do a LOT of almonds, black beans, and spinach already. I have been thinking about looking into the hemp seeds and I LOVE sunflower seeds. Thanks for the tips. I will add these to my shopping list.

Balancing Protein and Calories
Thanks all. I have begun working in an aerobic exercise and yoga as well so I am hoping this will make the protein increase more noticeable as I get stronger.
