is it also the case for pasta too ?

I'd try hard to avoid gluten and wheat which means avoiding wheat based pasta. But you have to live in the world you live in if you know what I mean.

Thanks but unfortunately, nothing really kills my appetite. I get hungry no matter how much protein I eat.

Yes, but you said this in your first post:

My carbs always outweigh my protein

Reducing your carbs should help you with your appetite issue. Most of the time it kills appetite so much that people end up not eating enough which is bad when those people allow their lack of appetite set an arbitrary calorie level that is too low.

by higly processed carbs, do you mean the ones in white flour/rice/bread ? x

For Paleo, white rice is okay in moderation. I think Robb Wolf has said that several times on his podcast.

Hmmm. "Highly processed" is really ambiguous but I think it needs to be vague to be workable. Most of the food you have available to eat is processed to some degree. You'll want to avoid the ones that *require* a lot of processing to be eaten.

A simple packaged item with a list of 20 ingredients is usually a good example of highly processed. Do you guys have twinkies over there? That is highly processed. Pop tarts are highly processed. Most junk food is highly processed. Most whole food is not.

How about a can of beans? I don't think that is highly processed. But it is more processed than fresh beans you've cooked at home. So the home cooked fresh beans would be far better than the canned beans and the canned beans would be far better than a twinkie.

Even if you were an adult and in full control of your menu you would still have to make choices about what to eat, what is affordable and what is available. Grass fed beef is wonderful but if you have to live in your car to buy that sort of stuff you are doing it wrong. If (when) the zombie apocalypse happens and twinkies are all that is available to eat then eat the twinkie and make a better choice when the shambling masses of moaning zombies are not hot on your trail.

reddarin : thank you very much for all of those references ! carbs are basically kind of the base of my nutritional intake, and i think it has something to do with the fact that I live in France, and here légumes are considered healthy as hell and present to every meal. so i do my best to avoid them but sometimes you just can't face your whole country ! i will look into Paleo, i have no idea of what it is so ... Thank you very much ! x

America is like that too lol

Healthy whole grains, eat less move more, well-balanced and all the other code words for carbs being innocent. It is balderdash but 300 million zombies try hard to argue the indisputable facts about human metabolism here as in most other countries.

You are young and not overweight so you can probably incorporate sensible carbs into your diet without any problems. A reasonable approach to Paleo will do that for you and not be too big of a pain for your parents to accommodate. Unless your parents are open to it, do not worry about eating organic Paleo. And while it is best to limit dairy you don't need to do without it like some Paleo people do. In other words, don't worry about strict Paleo eating just try to adhere to the broad outlines of it.

If you limit your consumption of fruit, try hard to avoid highly processed carbs and start a moderate strength training program you'll be all set.

Ah. Please, please, please, do not get hooked on CrossFit. Paleo and CrossFit are almost joined at the hip but God knows how many people have been injured for life doing stupid CrossFit workouts.
