I'm 27 and have been struggling with my weight for as long as i can remember. I think back in high school, and how i was unhappy when i weighed 160, and now what i would give to be that weight again! I've climbed up to 220 (230 at one point), and wonder where my life has gone.

I'm successful in so many other areas and wonder why it's been so difficult to manage my weight. I find myself binging late at night, getting down on myself, eating more and saying i'll start tomorrow. If i keep that up, tomorrow will never come and i'll never actually lose the weight and get happy again. Today IS tomorrow.

I know that if i just stick with it, it will work, i'll see results and begin my journey. I already know that just a few pound weight loss invigorates me so much, so i can only imagine what being under 200 pounds would do!

Anyway, i could keep going forever...basically i'm hoping that i'm here and writing/thinking this stuff for the last time. That i can look back at this Bio and say, "wow, look how far i've come."

Here i go...

**updated 6.21.2012**

I'm 29 now and started to eat only whole foods (nothing processed) in mid-March 2012. Feeling good with my progress and just want to work in more exercise to my life. You can't control the numbers on the scale, you can only control if you stay on plan. The numbers will catch up...

STUCK!!!
I agree with NCNOLE, stick with it!! You've already made it this far. I have to say from personal experience, i just got off of 2 weeks of NO weightloss. It was so frustrating. I felt like giving up at times, but i knew that if i stuck with it i would eventually see the results.

These "plateaus" can be hard to stick through but you can't control the numbers on the scale you can only control if you stay on plan. The results will be amazing...just stick through it!!

Good Fats Vers Bad Fats
Wow, I'm shocked to read the responses to this post!

Jo60, are you really saying that fruits and veggies are bad for you and can't allow for weight loss??

Lineruds never said to eat processed plant oils as you suggested, they said to eat whole foods that contain good oils (avocados, nuts, etc). I'm shocked that the impression of most of the posters on this forum believe that there are lobbyists working for the vegetable and fruit industries and not massive amounts of money being put into the meat and dairy industries to keep these items a high priority in the common "food pyramid".

No one is saying that processed corn and soy products are the answer....but limiting dairy and animal fats can be very beneficial to your health and incorporating green leafy veggies is one of the best things you can do for your health.

Just my two cents, but let's not say that meat and dairy are necessarily the best things to eat to accomplish great health.

Food for thought....Also, it's interesting to think that humans are the ONLY animal that drinks another animal's milk. Do people really think its necessary for human health? Also, think about the largest animals on earth (elephants, whales, etc) they all keep high muscle masses, regulate their own weights naturally, and eat TONS of food....but it's all fruits and veggies...

I miss Kate :(
I agree!! I was thinking the other day, "why haven't i seen her respond lately? I hope she's ok!!" Then i went to her profile and read her latest entry, and it really is for the best. The amount of time and dedication she spent on this website was remarkable. I too want to get to where she is, and feel the need to move on from FS because i've been successful. However, until that day, i'll be here, every darn day checkin' in! Smile

Thanks for the post Sheri...i'm glad to know i'm not the only one!

Btw, I wonder if she thinks about us as much as we think about her? Smile lol
