I'm pleased to say that Ive dropped 4 pounds this week, so far. I've done fairly well to sticking to phase 1 and am pleased that my craving for sweets is dwindling. It's still there but not so over powering like it was before.
Last night I ended up not being able to make it to the gym. First, my daughter had an 'unusual' uhhmmm hummm....'blowout'. Yep, she over filled her diaper and so graciously contained it within her lil' jeans. And, naturally, momma didn't have a 2nd change of clothes at work. So, had planned to run home, grab a change of clothes and go off to the gym, only to end up on the phone trying to figure out how to get our 18 yr. old home from Canada, which we weren't expecting to do until December. We finally got that sorted out, though. In the mean time I gave up on going to the gym and went for one of the new exercise DVDs I got last week. I have to say, I was IMPRESSED with the workout! I used the South Beach Diet Supercharged exercise DVD. Man, oh MAN! I am sore this morning! I think I've found my new favorite DVD. The first phase, which I did last night, was 15 minutes long and mostly consisted of stretches and slow movements that are to help strenghten your 'core'. I think it's a bit of pilates but I don't know much about pilates so don't quote me. Within just a few minues I was sweaten and the muslces were achin'. Even Cierra, my 2 year old, was on the floor trying to do what momma was doing. I had to crack up as I envisioned my daughter growing up watching and participating with momnma in exercising. It actually made me feel good that she was trying to join me and I'm so glad about that.
Anyway, feeling pretty good but sore this morning.
I plan to go grab that '2nd pair of clothes' to have on hand at work, right this very minute.
Happy Thursday.

I just had to post about the yummy string bean dinner we had last night! lol I took the idea from Bullytrouble. Instead of bacon, I used shrimp! I started with some chopped onion, threw in a few slices of fresh mushroom, and some frozen shrimp (from Costco) and a heaping teaspoon of garlic, tad bit of butter, and dash of black pepper. Sautee'd and then threw in a bunch of frozen string beans. Once heated through, served up in a bowl and topped with a bit of Feta. My OH MY! It was so GOOD! Hubby went back for more as did I. I was so proud of myself for trying something out of the ordinary for dinner. It was simple and tasty. Think I'll try it with peas next time and use some turkey bacon.
Oh, and I made it to the gym last night. I went straight from work and am so glad I did. It's so much easier to go right from work. No chance to come up with excuses! lol
