New-need help on carbs and sugars
It really depends. If you are trying to lose weight, I would stay below the 100 grams of carbs line...which is less than you can imagine. 150 for maintainance.

Personally what works for me is eggs in the morning (like a frittata with chard or spinach or something green) if you eat breakfast(I don't), a big ass salad in the afternoon with dressing that you make yourself (I do balsamic and avocado oil...add bacon to it as well) and then something meaty later on with a vegetable like cabbage or brussel sprouts, cauliflower or broccoli.

I'm sure you have found that without sugar and an abundance of carbs in your diet, your insulin levels stabilize, which should result in you not being as hungry. This is a good thing. If you can cut out sugar and processed foods, you should be alright.

Vegetables that are high in carbs are things like potatoes and carrots. Pretty much anything green is open game for the diet. Steer clear of fruits as well if you can. If not, limit them to something like an apple a day.

Make sure you are getting plenty of fat and protein in your diet as well (I'm not sure how old you are...I'm 45...and the older you get the more important protein is for maintaining muscle). Shoot for .8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. This is the bodyweight you want to be, not the weight you currently are if you are overweight. So, I need roughly 170 grams per day.

To give you an idea of what that means:

1 pound of chicken thighs (100 grams), 4 eggs (24 grams), a pound of spinach (13 grams), and a protein shake (24 grams) almost gets me there.

Good luck man!
