Yay, k8yk - thanks for the reality check. I read an article once called "The Scale Lies". All of the points you brought up are reasons why the scale should not be our only metric of success on this healthy living journey!

WW is NOT a diet (anymore - I would say it was one many years ago). It is simply another way of learning to eat healthy foods in reasonable portions and to incorporate exercise. I don't agree with *diets* - if it's only a temporary change to how you eat, it will only be a temporary change to your weight.

Keep up the good work! The scale will respond, eventually!

atkins vs ww
WW is a way of teaching portion control, healthy eating, exercise, and dealing with the emotional side of food. If you don't need the tips and group support, you can definitely get the same results counting calories and exercise on your own.

Personally, I find the group support helpful, and attending weekly meetings keeps me focused (most of the time). I am Lifetime, so as long as I'm at goal (which I'm not right now), I don't have to pay.

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! So discouraged :(
Did you eat a lot of salt? Or, exercise at high intensity? You will retain water, and it will reflect as weight gain. Even if not, there are plenty of reasons while "the scale lies". There was an article titled that, which gave other non-weight reasons why the scale fluctuates for reasons other than weight gain. It's only one tool we have in this journey - don't let the scale be your end-all. How do you feel? Have you seen other improvements from eating healthy/exercising? Clothes fit better? Blood pressure gone down? Etc., etc. Stick with it - it is worth it!
