Damn this menopause crap. I'm working out more, watching my calories (thank you fatsecret) and I'm up and down like a seesaw. In April I got down to 139. That's the lowest I've been in 8 yrs. Then a week ago I weighed 149.8. I'm doing more stuff in the gym, and I'm gaining? My fat has redistributed to mostly the belly that jiggles when I walk (I've ALWAYS been able to get my flat stomach back), and the love handles that weren't there in July. And the back fat? it ain't goin nowhere. I started using the treadmill, which is not a good idea because of the arthritic knees. But I have to push. I just had a breast reduction a week ago. In my delusional world I thought that now I'd have small boobs and I can wear just about everything. Well, I started at F cup, now my right is a D and my left is a C. they're BOTH supposed to be a B. But I can feel the difference from what it was. I'll be 57 next month and I swear, every month there's something new. (pains, rosacea, moles/warts popping up, and body & facial hair is out of control.) I'm healthy. I just don't want to see jiggling fat!

started taking a thyroid med on July 21st (from my psychiatrist). The first two days I got full pretty fast. I thought this was going to work for me. Then I had knee surgery on the 24th. After a week, I found that I had lost 5 pounds (within a week!). But I was crediting that to using crutches (hard work!). After I stopped using them, I gained back the 5 pounds. I continued taking the thyroid meds, but had not lost any weight. I have 'slimmed' down to where I can notice, but my clothes are not getting baggier. I am pleased with that at least.
I've tried keeping my calorie intake to 1800. sometimes it's only 1100-1400. and sometimes (not often) I hit 1900-2200. But the point is, I still eat what I want. I just freak out about the calories. I'm making my husband crazy. He's lost 26 pounds! grrr
we got a new scale. now I can see my weight to the ounce. I don't like it.
I'm cool with losing a pound a month, but if that doesn't happen, as long as I can see a difference in how my body looks I'm happy. I wish I could exercise more, but I'm always tired. Chronic Fatigue, depression, anxiety, stressed, sleep problems, bi-polar, etc etc
My exercise regimen: I'm a dancer. I dance anywhere from 1-3 hrs a week.
There is a gym downstairs where I work. I try to go down at least twice a week and spend 15 min on abs, arms, and legs.
That's what I've done for years.
I was an average 128-130 pounds before menopause really set in (after 10 yrs). I got all the way up to 154. I now weigh 146.
every day is a struggle for me.
