The Truth About Avocados
"Dietary fat doesn't make people fat."

Caloric surplus makes people fat the likes of which dietary fat is a major contributing problem. In addition, dietary fat is more likely to be stored as fat in caloric surplus.

With that said, there is a minimal safe level of dietary fat that our body requires. If you can hit your caloric targets with the proper ratios for fat, then you're good. In particular, avocados are among the perfect healthy fat for this.

But that doesn't mean eat as many as you want. For many people, one avocado represents 50% of their entire daily fat requirement. Don't go nuts.

Belly fat over 50
Your body decides where to store fat, and sadly, where to remove fat. There is no specific exercise or diet you can use to target fat areas. The only thing to do is caloric deficit over a long enough period of time. Just keep at it, you'll get there!

Always go for a large protein serving in your meals. Steak, chicken, pork, turkey, fish, eggs, greek yogurt, cottage cheese. Make these staples and you'll get plenty of protein in your diet.

alchohol and diet
You don't have to quit cold turkey right away, you could look at tapering off or switching alcohol types. Are you into liquors? A straight up shot (1oz) of most spirits (tequila, whiskey, scotch, rye, bourbon, vodka, gin) is in the ballpark 70-80 calorie range. That's 1/3rd the typical 210 mark for a can of beer.

So if you can replace a beer with a whiskey-soda you'll find you can still enjoy drinking for a much reduced caloric hit.

How to curb late night eating?
If you have trouble with restraint then just don't keep junk in the house. Make the only food available ones that need time to prep/cook. You're less likely to do that late at night.
