I tried out Body Beast Tempo: Chest & Tri's, today, and all I can say is: HOLY CRAP!!! I haven't felt a burn like that, or a pump like that in my triceps, in a very long time. I really was gritting my teeth and just about to scream to get through it.
The chest sequences, doing 6 count up, 6 count down, for 15 reps on presses, incline presses, and incline flys just murdered me. Each of those is followed up with a 3 up/6 down count for 12 reps, then 3 up/3 down count for 8 reps.
It was, to paraphrase, AWESOME!

Solid Shoulder workout today. Surprisingly my shoulder is feeling a LOT better this week, and I used the EZ bar for the rev. grip over head presses with no joint pain. Good stuff.

Body Beast: Back and Biceps this morning. I know that I ran out of the calories from the oatmeal I had before the workout about 1/2 through. The object of this program is NOT to run out of calories and get catabolic in any way, at least not yet. Another lesson learned: Early morning workouts will require more time for actual nutrition beforehand.

I haven't felt this ready for a rest day in a long time. I did warm up this morning with 15 min on the exercise bike, then did about 30 min of Tai Cheng work. Just enough to move my body, but nothing strenuous at all.
Now tomorrow..the dreaded Build: Legs. I'm scared.

Body Beast: Build - Back & Bi's... again the pace just blasted me. In P90X Back & Bi's we do a LOT more sets, but with more rest in between, so pull up numbers are higher. Today I was toast by the 2nd set of rev. grip chin ups, actually had to use a band for the last 2 sets! EGO DEFLATING!!!!
Biceps weren't toasted as bad, but then using the EZ bar with screw on locks vs. spring clips really slowed me down on the drop set. I probably went a bit too heavy on those, my form went a little south toward the end.
I'd have liked to have done more curls, just because that's what I'm used to, but not sure the muscles would have agreed with my head on that.
