After a 4 day backsliding binge of eating junk food (I mean take-out of every sort), I have been back strong on my eating plan. I was at 250 when the binge started and I had been eating to plan for around 30 days. What do you do when you are wanting to binge and/or in the middle of a binge? I quickly bounced up to 255 in weight during the binge, but today (a week later), I am down almost 7 pounds by getting my eating back on plan. Whew, I thought I would never get back to eating well again for a day or two, and those first two days back (Monday and Tuesday) were hard.

I thought I had it all figured out, then that one little cheat on Thursday, allowed me to go 4 days eating badly. The thing is in that time my body and mind felt like a drug addict trying to achieve some pleasure-filled high. Each time I ate I felt not very satisfied, and I was still looking for satisfaction. IT DID NOT COME. I felt really terrible. I was in a food coma mostly which included laying around and watching television. One night I awoke regurgitating green goo.

So here I am going into the weekend strong, but knowing the specter of those cravings are lurking nearby. I often realize this when I arrive home, and my thoughts immediately go to my 'old default' and that is grab some food and the remote and relax.

Being mentally tough is what I am learning here. I mean that I have to self-talk myself into doing the right things (and this does work). I tell myself you will so much better when you get up in the morning, and you will have lost weight. I also tell myself it will feel good to win over your weakness. I am a master of this by no means, but I am very grateful I realized I can do it. Does this fight ever stop is my question? It does seem to be getting easier. (Continued BELOW - Click the 3 Dots ---> )

I just keep anticipating that feeling of when I have reached my goal, and it is in sight now. I am still 60 to 80 pounds to my goal, but my current eating and lifestyle changes have given me more weight loss than I ever thought possible. I have lost just about 20 pounds this month. So, remembering and seeing that the goal is attainable is a great help to keep at it. I have a picture on my computer desktop of the way I want to look and I look at it regularly. I also carry a folded in-two index card in my pocket that states my goal, and I read that at least once daily.

That is how I am doing it, and I could share a lot more today. If you have any advice I would love to hear it, or support, or your stories (leave Support and Comments, if you will). If you are like me it helps to hear help and motivation. Is there anything you have gained from my story here? What advice would you give me? What are the most difficult things you face in your weight loss?

We can all be where we want to be in a year or less. You may have heard, If you can dream it you can do it, so I would add you also have to really take daily action and SEE YOURSELF as that success. Practice seeing your goal (the picture) and reading your goal (the card) ((BTW, my card has the goal, the date I will be finished, and the reason why I am going to succeed).

I would love to hear your comments, helps, angry rants, answers to my questions below.

Love,

P.S.
Friday Funny: Do you ever feel like I do that people will do the strangest things to exercise. I was on my way in to the office today and passed our local track. In the past few days on the track I have seen people do the following and I just have to laugh (please forgive me i say something about something you are doing), So here is what I have seen: people crawling on all fours down the track, people doing high leg-lifts moving BACKWARDS (as if frontwards just won't make it happen for you), people running both directions on the track, and they will crash head-on into each other if they are not careful (I mean can't we all just go the same direction), a person on the football field doing some push-up, stand-up, jump, then kick move that would intimidate anyone in a fight :), and finally a kinda sad case of a pack of young women running down the football field (which is prohibited), and one girl that could not keep up (best thing was I did not see here give up). I wanted to grab her and tell her if she is trying to lose weight, that eating right is the best way, because I have tried to exercise the weight off for 20 years and it never works. SOO, eat great today and this weekend, and go do some backwards, crawling leg-lift kicking jumps and get fit :) TGIF
