What time do you work out?
5 am 5-6 days/week for the past 16 months! I work out at home. If I try to fit it in later in the day "life" always seems to get in the way. Night time is out because i drink quite a bit when i workout so being up every hour makes for a restless sleep.

Protein Shake failure
Have you tried Whey Protein Isolate? No lactose. I've used the decandent chocolate by kaizen with almond milk and it is very tasty
Vega one makes a vegan nutritional shake...the berry flavour is very good although i like the mouth feel of the isolate better.

Appetite Killer
So sorry for your loss. I lost my father to cancer when I was 11 years old. This Dec 31 will be thirty years ago. You were blessed to have him in your life and you should celebrate the life he shared with you. Sometimes we remember more of the "end" and forget to celebrate all the beautiful moments before then. I didn't have as many moments as you but I cherish what I do remember.

Best diet out there?
I think you need to do a little research. Take a look at a variety of plans with the understanding that the best way to keep weight off is to find a lifestyle that works for you so you won't revert to what caused you to be overweight in the first place.
I've tried Atkins, Dukan and calorie counting. They can all work (and they did but I yo yo'd. Paleo is what seems to work for me and my family (I refuse to change only MY eating habits so my husband who doesn't have a weight problem and I decided what works best for us all).

Insanity & T25
I have quite the beachbody DVD collection. Insanity (which I am doing right now ..just started day 15), turbofire, p90X, asylum and les mills combat.
For those that say they can't find the time. I am on month 15 of 5 am workouts. The only time of the day that I can make for me. It was rough for the first 2 weeks but after that it has been routine. Even now I wake up just before my alarm. It was easy to start when the sun rose early in the morning. I find working out first thing keeps me very motivated and I NEVER miss a workout unless we have issues with the kids in the middle of the night which happens less than once a month. Any other time of day I can convince myself out of it.
