losing 2.0 lb a week

Another week another loss. Who knew that losing weight could be so much fun. But yet, I look at the scale and go "is that all I lost" so I have to slap myself every once in a while and have to realize that 2-3 pounds a week is a hell of lot when you do it week after week, month after month. Even with my loss, I need to re-focus on the basics: log everything, eat good healthy food, drink lots of water, add whatever exercise you are capable of doing and keep focused. We can all do this. Have a great weekend.

As I was reading other peoples journals, I noticed something that a lot of us are guilty of. That is, we see the success in all the other people and are quick to comment/encourage/help as we can, YET, in our own lives we are quick to criticize and be harsh to ourselves. We need to build ourselves up and look forward to the changes we are doing and the fact our lives are getting better each day. At the time, it seems to us that we are not doing that great, but bad habits are changing, inches are being lost, weight is going down or even we just don't overeat like we used to. For myself, it took decades to develop the enforce all the bad habits and I sometimes get frustrated when I don't change overnight. This site works because we can see the changes in others and support them and they in turn support us. A big thank-you to all my friends on this site. Have a great week.

I have found, attacked and beaten the 100 pound monster. The last couple of weeks he has been around but hiding. He is now dead and I am very happy to be rid of this weight forever. The next big milestone will be getting into the two hundreds and I have set my goal for the end of the year. Thanks to everyone for all the support and encouragement when I needed it. All it takes is persistence. Don't quit, restart after every time you get knocked down and you can all do it. Looking forward to killing the next monster.
