[Poll] - Why are you here on FS?
Joined because I was looking for an app for my Blackberry that would help be track calories. Now, it's all for the support. It's because of all you other wonderful people that understand and support me. Without your journal entries and direct support I would not be doing as good as I am. Thanks to all of you (even you rotten, mean posters-I learn from you how not to act). Have a great, successful and fun time everyone.

Losing Weight Takes Forever
I have been heavy all my life and tried most diets, pills, potions, etc. My doctor has been after me for years to do something, asking what she can to to help and I have always told her that all she can do is keep giving me my high blood pressure and cholesterol meds and when I am ready something will be done. Four months ago, I left my doctors office, found this neat app for my blackberry and it has changed my life. I have lost 79.5 pounds, my blood pressure is down, I can now walk up more than 6 stairs without gasping for air, my clothes fit better, I can cut the grass and the list goes on and on. I did all this WITHOUT DIETING. I have learned about food, learned about exercise and been seriously motivated by the great people on this site. I have so much yet to learn and I know that I don't eat the healthiest I can, but that is changing. My eating lifestyle is something I can live with for the rest of my (hopefully long) life. Use your brains, see the choices, realize you need to change your lifestyle instead of depriving yourself of all the goodness that life has to offer. Thank you everyone on this site. YOU have changed my life!!

So hard
Just keep logging everything you eat (and look at the calories for each item). After a while, it starts sinking in just how many hidden calories you consume. I cut back on eating just because I didn't want to have to enter those calories into the program. It seemed worse to have to enter the calories into the program than it did to actually eat them.

Anyone need to lose over 100LBS???
I have over 200 lbs to lose so am hoping for some support. I always feel like I have to hide the fact that I am trying to lose weight. My family is very supportive, but its not their brain that controls what I eat. I am missing out on life (cant go to any places that don't have chairs strong enough). I have never talked about my weight so maybe this will help. My first goal is to get down to 400 lbs (abt 35 to go) so I can then weigh myself at home. My health is good so am ready to go. Thanks to everyone here for helping me realize that it can be done.!
