I don't really understand, but I weigh in every 3-4 days at the same time and my weight is beginning to fluctuate 5lbs. Is this normal?

I think I have hit an exercise plateau with weights. I used to love it, but I feel as if I don't care for it anymore. I recognize that in order to lose weight and keep it off it needs to be replaced with muscle, but weights bore me. Does anyone have any routine ideas to help me build muscle?
