I re-joined Gold's Gym on Monday. Got my measurements and body fat tested on Tuesday evening. 39% body fat which is up 10% from 2 years ago before I started grad school. I worked with a trainer Wednesday morning, and he confirmed my suspicion that working out only 3 times a week will not result in 30 lbs weight loss by Thanksgiving. I think a lot of people will be disappointed. If they follow the guidelines in the challenge it just won't happen. He said MAYBE it will happen working out 5 times a week with a good intensity not just walking.
I don't think I will lose 30 lbs by Thanksgiving because muscle weighs more than fat. I am going to focus on reducing my body fat percentage and overall measurements since that is a more attainable and realistic goal.

re-joined Gold's Gym. Getting body fat tested and fitness assessment in the next couple days. Going to sign up for personal training in September.

Printed out my "before" pictures and took measurements today. Being overweight is making me depressed. Sometimes I think I am not that bad, but then I look at pictures of my body and hate it. I think the extra weight makes me look older. I worry that maybe I am getting a distorted body image - that I don't see myself the same way others do.
