Is walking the same - treadmill vs shopping
Walking is walking. It doesn't matter how you get the steps in as long as you get them in. I typically park in the furthest spot, walk to my coworkers desk rather than email, get a quick 15-30 minute walk during my lunch break...etc It's about making small lifestyle changes that will impact your health, not so much about committing to a treadmill.
