I think my scale is messing with me. I know what I have eaten; I know what my activity level is like. There is no way I could have gained 7 pounds in two days. Just not possible. Is it?

I think the scales I am using are slightly off. Don't get me wrong; I am

complaining. No no no. Far from it. Merely making an observation. Either that, or when I went into the doctor's office and weighed in on the 7th (where the scale said, quite clearly, 290.0), I had not shed the retained water that my high sodium intake (Beef Jerky, why hast thou forsaken me?!). Either way, I like my bathroom scale better. =D

I LOVE fresh fruit, but I am on one of those 'physician assisted post-bariatric' diets that only allows me 80g of net carbs a day. For the most part, I can get along fine. But fresh fruit, or produce of any kind that does NOT have a nutrition label (and hopefully never will because I secretly like thinking of them as freebies even though I know they are not), are difficult to record.
For instance, this morning I ate a Weight Watchers cheese stick (the smoked mozzarella kind), had a carton of Muscle Milk, and three cubes of watermelon I purchased at my local grocery store. Now, that's not three slices, mind you; that's one slice that has been cut into many cubes and put into a container to be sold. There is no label. I don't know how many net carbs I am eating, just that I know I AM eating carbs in this fruit. Fine. Whatever. To be fair, the bariatric thing is one of the easier life style changes I have gone through in my life. But I am OCD about recorded facts, especially when it comes to my life, and if the doc wants records of what I ate and how many carbs were present, I have a twitchy need to be correct.
To be honest, it doesn't REALLY matter. The amount of carbs is surely negligible anyway, right? I shouldn't worry so much. Still, if anyone can offer an OCD girl a website or book or something that has the amount of carbs in most produce (fruit & veggies), I would be eternally grateful.
Spasmodically yours,
CC
