All my life I have had athletics and then I didn't. I was a skier and loved my bike in the summer. Seven years ago my right knee, that had several operations on for torn this and torn that finally gave up the ghost. It was grinding bone on bone and I could hardly walk. My five foot four frame was all of a sudden carrying close to two hundred pounds on it with little to no activity I had blown right up. I had the right knee replaced, and a year later the other one replaced too. I became a aquafit devotee.

When I was really heavy my stomach fat formed an apron of flesh; it had slipped down off of my abdomen and hung. For years I never really lost the general body shape, but got down into the mid one eighties. The apron of fat and skin has been sitting in front of me for five years. I still have a lot of pain from my left knee...the right one is fine. I have to weigh under one fifty for the sake of my bones, self esteem and mobility.

THIS SECTION CUT BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LONG.

I find Fat Secrets a wonderful place to roam around and share the day to day of this journey. Thank you for taking the time to read my Bio and I want you to know that this is the place I found my support, education and hope.

Janet

I don't know how the heck people are staying at 800 calories a day!!!
It was easy to maintain 185 pounds for years. Once I get to 'ideal' that should be easy to support and maintain. I just have to calculate for the energy it took to lug that fat around but I am more active when I am slim. It should balance out.

I have all this stinky thinking around food and can rationalize almost anything
.

If I do not eat carbs ... I can starve myself without hunger. No carbs is the trick to an 800 cal/day.
