Soooo I completed my 2nd 5K this morning with a time of 56:50. Almost my exact time of the first 5K. Definitely not making progress on speed but it didn't hurt nearly as much as the first one. Also, in the first walk, I started cramping at the beginning. This time, my cramping came closer to the end (around the 2.5 mile mark).
Before I begin, I always ask myself "Why am I doing this to myself? It's so painful". But the at the end, I'm always glad I did it.
So my plan is to bump up my walk to a 7K race that's in 2 weeks. That will bring me closer to the 10K mark that I need to be able to complete for the Peachtree Road Race.
This attempt at losing weight has actually gone beyond just losing weight, it has turned into a new hobby that will have a dramatic change on my lifestyle. Period. Eventually, I'd like to run these races and actually compete for a medal.
Imagine that. Me. A runner.
