Well it's been awhile since I've posted, since my last attempt at the 21-day fix. I injured my knee, but it's better now & I'm starting to exercise again. Can't seem to get below 156 lbs, the scale touches that number but then goes back up a half lb or so. SO FRUSTRATING!!! I'm thinking about trying the diet part again, and really focusing on keeping the calories down. As for exercise, well I think there's something to be said for rest days. I should still be able to work out 5 days a week, but getting in my steps everyday even if I don't "work out." Fridays are my least likely day to work out, I got on the tread climber twice this past week & actually went to the gym Wednesday to lift heavy weights. Gotta say, I kind of like doing the AMRAP exercises with dumbells that was prevalent in the 21-day fix. It's something that I can do while watching TV. I've also been orbiting my living room to make sure I hit 6000 steps. Probably looks weird, but it gets the job done. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Scale was up today - it's amazing how my mood is set by those numbers! I felt like a failure, I ranted & raved about how useless this diet appears to be, or if I'd stuck with it better, blah blah blah.... But then I remembered my goal was to stick with the plan for 3 weeks, THEN re-evaluate. Okay, so I can't do the lower body fix today because of my knee (which is a little better), so I will repeat the upper body fix instead. Focus on what I CAN do. And yeah, try to stick with the diet part better. I did get in a Pilates workout yesterday, no you won't lose weight doing Pilates but your muscles do get strengthened & more flexible. I splurged a bit on a bagel for breakfast, will have salmon for lunch & salad with some chicken for dinner. Let's do this!

Knee is a little better today, & I did today's Upper Fix workout. Man, am I tired already! Also need to get my steps in, my goal is 6000 per day. I barely made that yesterday. Despite overeating & underexercising yesterday my weight is down about 1/2 lb, but still not at that weight listed above. I need to get back to that weight, and maybe another 1/2 lb lower by Easter. That's the goal. Lunch will be grilled chicken breast, jasmine rice & probably some broccoli, then I'll take a salad & some yogurt to work for dinner. Better food choices than yesterday, aiming for 1400 calories. Let's do this!

Well this is a shocker, I followed the portion control but didn't make good choices on what I put into those cups, so I've gone WAAAAYYYYY over on calories for the day. Also, my knee was really too messed up to do much walking, hopefully it'll be better tomorrow. Goodnight, everyone.

The final week of the 21-day Fix starts today, & my knee feels soggy. That's the best description. I completed a 5K walk/run Saturday & am paying for it today, time for some new shoes. No good results on the weight loss, in fact it's up again, but what did I expect? Last week I had 2 birthday dinners, one came with key lime pie & the 2nd had yummy cupcakes, which I ate more than 1. Plus, after the run I was exhausted & starving so I just ate. I tried to do better yesterday, as far as following the diet goes, but there you are. It's a consistent pattern with me of overindulging on the weekends.
What I CAN say is I've kept up with the workouts, but today's workout is going to have to be some low intensity walking. I don't think it would be wise to stress my knee with lots of squats & lunges, but sitting around isn't doing it any favors either. As for the diet, well I will once again TRY TO buckle down & stick with the eating plan. There's no birthday celebrations or anything else to derail me this week. I know what I need to do - I've got the list of proteins & veggies I need to focus on, and the measuring cups for portion control. I want to finish this week STRONG!
