I was really excited to write on this journal today. It's really a nice feeling to reflect on my health and fitness journey.
I ran a half marathon yesterday in 2:34 and 36 seconds. Not bad. It's about an 11 minute mile. *pat on the back* I worked so hard. For someone who has been sedentary for a long time, who gave birth last year, who has been through the longest self-doubt phase of my life - I finally did it. I have finally commit to my health - for life.
I also weighed in this morning and the scale said 143lbs. It has been slow, yes. But it has been meaningful and life changing. Of course I want the weight the come off faster. But I've learned not to do things half-ass in anything and I will not lose weight and be healthy half ass. I would just gain the pounds back and go through another roller coaster.
I learned that I cannot and should not eat white rice, white pasta or white bread. It really doesn't do anything for me. So I've been switching to quinoa, wheat bread and pasta. I feel more full and more satisfied. Also more fiber too.
I also learned that I should be eating too much sugary stuff. Damn, I love red velvet cake, but it is not good for my tummy.
- Limit my sugar intake
- Limit white carbs (or take it out completely for this month - that includes pizza)
- Take out junk food completely
- Continue running 5 times a week 3-6 miles each time (I love it!)
- Drink plenty of water
I have 3.5 more weeks to go down to 138 lbs. I know I can do it.

oh my gosh it's so hard getting back on track again. Final exams got me sitting on my butt and eating loads of carbs. Now, I have 3 weeks left until the half marathon and I must stop. I must stop eating so much junk food! Must eat healthier. I think I need to take a trip to Trader's Joe and buy some nuts and produce there to get myself back on track!

YAY! I finally got it. I'm so happy. I finally figured this thing out. My friend J also helped me understand this whole calorie deficient thing. :-) I lost a pound!
