Hello there,
I am a Thai person living in BC, a small town near Vancouver, Canada.
Pacific time zone.
In the past 2 years, I have lost about 10 kgs.
The turning point was I identified myself as a Thai dancer(for cultural shows).
At that time I weighed almost 70 kgs. I felt too pitiful and realized that I looked too big to dance. Then I worked hard to have gone down at this current weight.

Slimming down journey:-
Oct 2008 - Dec 2008 From 69.XX kgs down to 64 kgs
Jan 2009 - Mar 2009 From 64 kgs down to 60.xx kgs
Hit plateau - body weight flutuated between 60-62 kgs struggling to go down below 60 kg.
Started over on Jan 16, 2010

Method : fast-5 lifestyle ---> eating window 5 hours a day (fasting for 19 hours a day) My eating window is 1 PM - 6 PM
Beating (mostly false) hunger by drinking hot green tea or chewing mint gum.

Daily goal = minus 1000 calories per day (if so, aprrox. losing 1 pound per 3 days)

Eating window 5 hours a day might sound too extreme, but once adjusted to it- it's a liberation! I feel more focused to do other interesting things in life, not wondering my mind too much about food(calories!).

How to Adjust to fast-5 lifestyle
It's suggested to take smaller steps like setting eating window for 9 hours first and then gradually reduced to 5 hours.

This is the Thai Buddhist monks' way of life. They are allowed to eat from at dawn to noon. The wisdom is to reduce "wanting or clinging" to things or matters. It's the way to prep themselves to meditation practice.

Eye opening for me about fast 5.
So liberating.
Long term lifestyle change.
800 calories a day is doable.
Portion control is easier.


Excercise : Aerobic dance with free hand weights (4 lb), stationary bike, hiking with my dog, Turbo jam or Taebo.
