OT; I've been living between a daze and lots of emotional pain. I've been at my daughter's home in Seattle since Saturday. There's been so much family stress but when I got the call Friday the 24th that my 33 year old son had died on the freeway, nothing seems to matter except getting through this. My daughter and older son are struggling with losing a sibbling while I "mom" have to come to terms with losing my child.

Admitedly, I'm self medicating with some dry wine to ease the trembling. Because of the holiday weekend, we can't even pick up my sons personal affects from the medical examiner until Tuesday. It was a bad accident so I' m hoping that no one has to view him. I'd prefer we all remember Luke the way he was.

Anyway in working through this, I felt the need to journal a bit from my daughter's nook as I try to wrap my head around this.

Hoping everyone is having a safe holiday.
Hugs,
Dianna

What a week! The 1st 2 days that it was cool and rainy I managed ok but today was my worst and the week totally bit for steps. I'm just way too sore and miserable to do much about it right now. Though I did really try by walking to the drugstore today but I'm paying for the blast of cold wind I got. In taking the bus home, I could hardly get up the steps. The woman behind me in her late 70's was doing much better than me.

However the day was not lost. I did manage to get a script for estrogen. I know, TMI right? But honestly, I thought we couldn't get these scripts anymore. So goodbye hotflashes and cold sweats. Thank you very much! I bought herbs for years for the same thing and they worked wonderfully. BUT that's back when I was working and had much better finances and since medicare won't cover herbs I'm stuck with drugs and a mandatory mammogram every year because of the harmone replacement. Can't win. I have got to sleep and I get little enough of that without hot flashes hitting me all night.

Also, this week in starting treatment (again) for my glaucoma, I had a nasty reaction to the Travatan. My Dr. said that's not unusual for someone with fibro. We tend to be rather reactive, medical wise. So we're trying another one. Crossing fingers that I won't wake up with another eye infection.

As for all my friends out there in FS land. I hope you all have a fab weekend!
