I'm a single, 29 year old woman who moved from Louisiana to Minnesota for work in 2012. I've always had weight issues dating back to childhood, which isn't surprising considering the eating habits of my entire family. Currently, I'm the only one that doesn't have high blood pressure or diabetes.
I lost close to 100 pounds when I was in high school but, after several close family members and friends passed away suddenly around the same time, I ended up gaining quite a bit back. Currently, I'm about 60 or so pounds away from where I'd like to be but I'm willing to take it slow and do things right. However, I'm hopeful that I can reach that goal by my 30th birthday.

Self control
I feel jealous that you have a separate butchers and greengrocers! I live in the US and, for the most part, we only have supermarkets. Even our small grocery stores have everything: a bakery with freshly made donuts throughout the day, a deli with pizza and fried chicken, an entire freezer aisle with ice cream, etc. I try to shop in bulk for meat and veg and then go to Whole Foods if I need something from a "middle aisle." It costs too much at Whole Food to impulse buy!

Self control
I find that once I give myself permission to just "have a bite" that I cannot control myself. I have accepted that I'm just one of those people who cannot take an inch without taking a mile. So I'm working on creating a plan that is realistic and eating within that plan 100% of the time.

Adult Beverages
A vodka soda has about 70 calories. Club soda has no calories, it's just carbonated water. I typically will order 1 vodka soda with a lime or lemon and then squeen the fruit into the drink to give it a little flavor. Club soda isn't necessarily more nutritious than diet soda since it's just water, but it does cut down on the amount of artificial sugar. You do need to be careful to stay sufficiently hydrated though because, in addition to the alcohol contributing to the dehydration, the carbination will dehydrate you as well.

My food diary is stuck on Sat.
If you go to date at the top of the page (on the bar where it provides your RDI, weight, etc.), it should have a drop down menu. Click on today and it should bring you up to the current date.

Confused by the hours of workout times
Firstly, welcome! And I've noticed that too. Whenever I add one activity, it always subtracts it from resting but if there's more than one activity entered it picks and chooses what to subtract the time from (everything gets subtracted from a 24 hour period). So if you are adding 30 minutes of walking, make sure it's subtracting it from resting. And if, that same day, you do 30 minutes of housecleaning, make sure that when you add that it still subtracts from resting instead of walking. Hope I helped!
