I am a 44 year old mother of a 20 year old daughter. I have been married more than half my life. My hubby does not care if I lose the weight or not. He would really rather that I cook all kinds of yummy meats and potatoes. However, he supports me because he knows that I need to do this for my health. I have Systematic Lupus and Arthritis. I need to lose the weight to improve my health. I have done weight watchers once before and was able to reach my goal. I lost 86 pounds that time and kept it off for several years before a turn in my health saw me gain back a chunk of the weight. I know that this works, but it has taken a great deal of effort for me to get motivated to go through this process again. In my spare time I plan Disney vacations for friends and family. My goal is to have "SKINNY" photos with Mickey Mouse on our next Disney Vacation in 2015.

Goal "New Years" 160 - Reached on 12/18/10
Next goal "Valentines Day" 150 - Reached on 2/5/11
Next goal "March Madness" 140- reached on 3/29/11
Next goal "Birthday" 130- still working on this

One more thing
A loss is a loss! I'll take all the tiny losses that I can get. Tiny losses add up to big losses!

Not trying to make excuses, but this kind of thing just happens!
I try to always have something that is within my plan on hand. Skipping a meal is not a real option for me as my blood sugar gets out of whack and then I am truly "sick" from being hungry. That being said, I keep low fat yogurt frozen (I buy fiber one peach yogurt and stick it in the freezer), frozen single servings of peas, and a couple of lean cuisines in the fridge at work all the time. I also have low fat chewy 90 calorie granola bars and 100 calorie bags of popcorn. This means that the "I only had time for..." never comes up. That is not to say that I don't fit junk food into my plan occasionally, but I don't give into it out of convenience.

Weight
If you eat sensibly (small portions of lean meats, lots of raw and grilled veggies, limit your fats) and practice for your tryouts you should be able to lose the weight. Remember that you can not cut your calories too much or you will put your body into starvation mode and it will just hold on to the weight. You want to lose the weight in a healthy manner. You may want to consult your family doctor.

WeighWatchers vs Calorie Counting
Basically the Weight Watchers system is counting calories, it just also looks at fat & fiber. I do weight watchers and I try to keep my calories under 1100. My RDI says 1200. I log everything on this site & I track my exercise as well. HERE IS THE REAL TRUTH...if you eat healthy balanced proportionally appropriate meals and get your body moving more...YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT.
