turned 47 this May (2016), I smoke, ate garbage, have hypothyroidism & may or may not have non-alcoholic fatty liver (they say there is some fat and that there is very little light signs of scarring, but nothing too bad), have an extremely sedentary lifestyle, used to have a few drinks (not a whole lot, but every Blackhawks game I'd have a few), never exercise, never really cooked, work 6 days a week and make a lot less than I should. I felt like garbage most days - almost always, really, but now that I've started making some changes, I feel SOOOO much better!

I used to be A LITTLE on the heavy side growing up, lost some as I got older and then got down to 120. I started this journey around 220 and am now at 208.2 and I feel so much better - can't wait to see just how good I can feel. I also can't wait to see what my doctor will have to say next time I go in and get my labwork done! I'm pretty sure I was pre-diabetic because I was starting to get this weird ring around my neck and some red spots, but now they have almost disappeared!

Newbie Keto question..Help, Please
Thank you so much for your replies! The part where I guess I got confused is that my carb intake for the past week or so have been about 6% or less (except my mom's birthday - oops!) and I do plan on being very strict with that and really focusing and zeroing in, but my net carbs (just saw you can track that here - I was initially only set up for actual carbs, not net) are sometime above 20 grams - does that matter or is it the percentage that matters more? I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Newbie Keto question..Help, Please
Hi. I've only been doing this for a short period of time and have a question. I am just beginning a keto diet and want to keep my carbs at or under 20 as recommended. But is that total carbs, net carbs or..? When we log our food in here is that total carbs or net carbs? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
