OHHHHH MY!
I've been weighing each morning fully clothed just like at the docs office. I used to always weigh naked just after using the restroom so I'd get my lowest possible weight. But I realized that every time I felt so good about my loss but then at the docs my number would be higher... like 5-7 lbs. I feel like doing it clothed will result in feeling better at my appointments & make me happier with more consistency.
Yay!!!

losing 9.8 lb a week

As I'm getting back on track with regular logging of weigh-ins & food I have been weighing daily. I won't keep doing that for the long haul. Once a week is better overall. Just while I'm getting back in to the swing of things and making this part of my regular routine again it seems like the thing to do.
I'm finding that it, along with my fasting blood glucose readings every morning, is giving me valuable feedback. Since my doctors appointment on Sept 13 I have gone from 286.6 to 280.6 & my average weekly BG has dropped from 167 to 152. I can see the difference in my numbers when I had higher carbs the day before & look back on what meals worked better than others.
I also realized that the one year anniversary of my diabetes diagnosis was last month. I have definitely seen improvements even though I haven't met my goals. I was shooting to be down under 250lbs. And I almost made it! I was 295 at the time I was diagnosed & got down to 253!!! Then I back stepped over the summer. My a1c has gone from 11.3 to 8.0, which is great! I was shooting for 7 or below. So close on both of my goals... I often get close to achieving my goals & then lose track of them & self sabotage.
I am trying not to think too much about where I could be if I had stuck with it. Even with my set backs I have still improved! I am excited to see such a significant change and am not discouraged at all! Oh! And to top it all off I had started smoking again but am now 1 month 4 days & 17 hours smoke free!

Not sure if I'm calling this a loss since the last weight I logged was at the doctors... fully clothed... with shoes on... lol! Feels good to see a lower number though so I'll enjoy the feeling good part regardless of how it came about.
I apologize for all of the yoyo weigh-ins some of you might have seen in the feed yesterday. I logged a bunch of old weights... it was actually pretty cool though, to be able to go all the way back to 2003!

My sister-in-law makes the most amazing Fish Tacos! The veggies are soooo delicious I went back for seconds & thirds of just the veggies! Cabbage, radish, tomato, red onion, green onion, jalapeno, cilantro and lime... hard core flavor punch!
