I'm all about balance in the things I can control. Everything outside of that range? I'm learning to let if flow.

I'm an active gal from Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, BC so climbing, yoga, biking, hiking, and camping are all part of the game. so is Food Warship. I LOVE to eat good food, savor fantastic coffee, and celebrate with top-notch beer. But I want to be sure that I can do that and still have the balance shape I want.

I also struggle with a younger brother who has a severe eating disorder. This means that I am very aware of healthy ways to be in shape and, also, the unhealthy ways. I'm going to do this right (hopefully you can help)!

My #1 Tip (Well, there's actually 2)
Tip #1:
Invest in nice, quality Tupperware. That's my trick. I have lots of beautiful, cute, fun little jars, containers, and the like. The point of having these beautiful little storage containers is that I have build in portions, I can pack small snacks, and they are small enough that I can eat them anywhere and stay full throughout the day instead of gorging at meal times. I also have some cool water bottles and to-go cups. I keep them filled with water, tea, or black coffee. I've been told that i'm weird for just drinking hot water, but I find it so calming, satisfying, and comforting.

Tip #1, too (hehe, punny):
Try your best not to eat anything heavy after 6 pm. If you need a little snack later on hit up your friend the fridge for some sexy fruit or veggies. a banana with chia seeds a drizzle of honey and a dash of plain yogurt is seriously as good as ice cream. no, really!
along with this tip comes the usual tip about downsizing your plates. I go one step further and use half seized utensils. This makes everything seem more like a delicacy and I tend to savor it and put my spoon down between bites (i don't really like forks. I know it's bizarre. feel free to tease me about it haha. i laugh at it myself).

Welp, that's all, folks. Hope it's helpful. I find it makes a HUMONGOUS difference.

Pump It UP: Workout Music
Everyone need to put Flo Rida's album"Wild Ones" on their iPod. It is my #1 pump up album and has some great cool down songs too. Seriously, it makes me work about 6 times harder.

Also, on iTunes there is a ton of free workout music with specific BMPs and cycling coaching when you search "podcasts" for "workout music." the cast is called "Motion Traxx: Fuel for Fitness." There are also lots of free yoga class podcasts as well.

Any other good music, podcasts, or coaching tracks?

Shhhh! It's a Secret
Is anyone else not v=crazy about telling people they are "dieting?" Maybe even haven't told anyone because they are embarrassed? Why is that?

I don't tell people because of 2 reasons: a) my friends and family think that i'm very healthy already, and b) I think i feel ashamed that i don't like myself how i am or that I want to be something else.

thoughts?
