12 April 2013

10 April 2013

I enjoy a bit of dairy every now and again, but I'm certainly not a cheese lover by any means. I use to have the stuff maybe 3 or 4 times a week, but in the last year or so I've noticed that it gives me spots! Once I eliminated dairy out of my diet I noticed my skin cleared up dramatically. Now, I can still have a small bit here and there, but yogurt and ice cream are sadly no-gos. I know if I have a scoop a spot will show up in a handful of days. I have to be even more diligent around PMS time since I really have sweet cravings then.

I guess the bright side is I have a real reason to stop myself from eating too much dairy! It's in practically everything sweet.

Was going to exercise today, but had too much work to do. Doesn't matter as it wasn't an official exercise day, but I was going to get it in if time allowed.

Anyhow, I think I'm getting the hang of maintenance this time around because of the tracking. It's funny how even when you lose the weight and you can fit into a size 2 or 0, your mental picture of yourself still sees a fat person, even though rationally you know you're at an okay weight. I don't know if I will ever view myself as "thin" as I've lived most of my life as chubby.

Alright, enough of this rambling...it must be the lousy weather! Have a good night everyone and be good.

05 April 2013

It's crazy that the first quarter of 2013 has already happened! Time/life moves so fast and I for one want to enjoy as much of it as possible. Which leads me to want to exercise a little less strenuously.

Exercising is for life; I firmly believe in it's benefits, but I want to shift my mindset from exercising like I'm training for something to exercising for just a simple mind & body boost. Basically, what I am getting at is I want to do it more for enjoyment. I still need to enforce discipline to this area as I'm not a natural lover of all things sweat-inducing, but I'm fairly active in my daily life, so that is not a problem, but I don't view that as heart-pumping exercise.

With where I am at with my weight (maintenance) now, I feel it's time to take it to a reasonable, and most importantly enjoyable level. Exercise is helpful in keeping your weight down, but I think diet is the key to what keeps the weight in check.
