Alright, so this is something that I normally have never tried. I am a firm believer in eating healthy, portion control and exercise. I have been on my way to good health for about 3 months now. I have only trickled off about 5 or 6 pounds...but in gerneral feel much better and lost maybe a size.
Well, I talked to my best friend in Arkansas on Friday (we went to nursing school together in 1990) and we did the normal chit chat that girls do catching up. Well, come to find out she went shopping that day for a new pair of pants. So I asked the obvious "bigger or smaller?"
This is when she explained that she had lost 80 pounds since May 2008. I was flabergasted in the least! So I asked her "how did you do it?"
What she actually went on was the Master Cleanse diet. It is not a "diet" per say, but a detox diet. It is a 10 day cleanse and she did it twice (but for 28 days)
She sent me the e-book for the diet, and I thought, what the heck?
So, I told a couple of the parents about it at my son's football practice and one of the dads had just finished his 10 days with this detox. He lost 16 pounds.
So, here I am...I am going to journal about all things that are happening to me with this detox.

So, day one (yesterday) of my 3 day introduction to the fast I was allowed to have one meal of my choice. Funny, but since I was not going to be eating anything in a while I ate wings and chili cheese tater tots (something I normally would not eat).
The lemonaide detox I made a bit to spicy..so it burned my throat.
All in all...day one was good. I started getting hungry about 3-4pm and ate about 4:30.

Today is day two of my 3 day introduction. I made my lemonaide better so it is way yummers. Not a problem drinking it today, however my tummy is growling and rumbling a lot. I just ate my dinner (which could only be fresh fruits and uncooked veggies) so I ate cantaloupe, a roma tomatoe and 1/2 a zuchini. Im stuffed!
I was very hungry today. I think I was thinking about food to much.

However...I look forward to the results, and 13 days is definately worth it.

Today I went to the gym (as usual) but added to my 30 minute cardio and upper body strength training a ab class. This was a private instruction (only 2 students and 2 teachers) so we had some great 1 on 1. Not only did I learn some new abdominal exercises, but I also learned some lower back strengthening exercises (which I need since I have always had a problem with it)
I totally suck at doing the plank, but was encouraged to do it for 5 times for 10 seconds until I can increase to 20 and then 30 seconds. Its actually comical, my whole body shakes when I do them! Talk about needing some core strength!
Then, when I got home I did 3 hours of house work...the kind that sucks like sweeping, mopping and vacuuming. Well, the good thing about it is that is counts for exercise!
Today is a good day....tomorrow will be better!
