Day 47:

"You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional, and mental states".

For the past few weeks, I have been making several small changes in my life. I have given up sodas and am now only drink water. I also changed my eating habits. I am now following a lower calorie diet and trying to eat more vegetables and fruit. I plan out all my meals and measure/weigh everything that goes into my month. And so far, all of these changes are helping me on my weight loss journey. However, movement/exercise is the concept that I still need to work the most on. I haven't made exercise a priority this week. I did so well last week and ended up exercising 5 days. But this week has been a different story. And it's not that I don't have time, cause I do. I am just being lazy this week. So, my goal next week is to do better and come up with an exercise plan for the week. Hopefully if I plan it all out, I will be better able to follow that plan. Wish me luck! :)

Day 33:

“To succeed you must first improve, to improve you must first practice, to practice you must first learn, to learn you must first fail.”

For the past week, I have eaten out 4 times. Three of those times has been to places I should have never went into, such as LongHorn Steak House and Hardee's. One of those time, I went to Subway, which is generally okay to eat once in a while. But not when you go for the entire $5 footlong and bag of baked chips. I have been seriously slacking this week. I don't know what is going on with me. I have not exercised at all. I have a half-assed attempt at recording my food intake for the week. And I have not been eating the right foods and/or portion sizes. This is the normal time period that I give up on my diet and revert back to my old ways. But I really don't want to do that this time. So, I am going to make a better effort to push myself these next few days to get myself back in the right frame of mind. Any encouraging words from my FS buddies would be greatly appreciated.

Day 15:

“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

I did very well this past week and weekend. I made a promise to allow myself only one bite of my Dad’s birthday carrot cake and I was successful. The cake was good, but not as good as seeing my 5.5 pound weight loss this morning on the scale. I was also able to get several small walks in and one long walk on a walking trail at the campground over the weekend.

As for this upcoming week, my goals are to maintain my healthy eating habits by continuing my five 300 calorie meal plan. And I also want to include more exercise this week. I brought my exercise clothes and shoes with me to work today and I plan to go walk at a nearby park during my lunch break. As for the rest of the week, I plan to start waking up earlier in the morning and hitting the small gym in my house and mix that up with some exercise DVDs.

This week I am taking personal responsibility for myself and my actions. I can change. I am braver, stronger, and smarter. Wishing all my FS buddies a healthy week.

Day 12:

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”

Just found this inspirational quote. I think it is very fitting for my weekend plans and life. This weekend is my Daddy’s 54th birthday. And we are celebrating by going camping for the weekend at his request. And of course, there is going to be a carrot cake (his favorite cake). But I want to make a promise to myself that I will not over indulge this weekend just because it’s my Daddy’s birthday and we will be out of town. I am going to allow myself one bite of cake (not an entire slice) and that is it. I am going to stick with my program for the entire weekend. And I plan to walk as much as possible. And that part will probably not be hard to accomplish because my new puppy, Zeus, is coming along too. Zeus is a 14 week old white German Sheppard. And I know he will keep us all on our toes while we are camping. Here’s hoping that all my FS buddies have a great weekend.

P.S. Does anyone know how to post pictures?
