Soooo tired of sitting around in a recliner. I watched some youtube videos done by a guy who went through the same surgery & recovery I'm dealing with. Interesting, and yet somewhat of a bummer. 5-6 weeks with my foot elevated as much as possible? 5-6 months before moving to any kind of aggressive movement? This is going to be very challenging. On a good note, my sitting around has allowed me to keep my caloric intake at a minimum without feeling drained. Only healthy foods. I got this. :)

It's been an interesting week and a half. Ruptured achilles the 13th, surgery to repair the 20th. No weight on the foot for over a week now. had a dream that had me jumping in my sleep (ouch!). 5 weeks on crutches? The challenge continues. I've been eating only vital health items for tendon health. Dr. said the tendon went right back together(didn't need to drill a hole in my heel). For this I am grateful. I'm fairly certain that has saved me alot of pain. Pain or not, I really want ALL my mobility back. So I'll follow the Dr.'s orders and stay off the foot. I'll be working hard at the heat and cold therapy when that time comes. For now, I'll just keep this thing elevated to get the swelling from surgery down. No scale/weigh dates for another 3 plus weeks. Upper body strength training should start in April.

Last weigh in for 8 weeks. Surgery on Tuesday on the achilles. Good to see a consistantly lower number on the scale. So my next eight weeks will be only healthy choices, lower caloric intake, and upper body strength contitioning. My goal is to drop 7 lbs in 8 weeks. This will undoubtedly be a challenge, as I'm not sure how much the pain of surgery will hinder my mobility. I pray for strength and a good attitude through this ordeal. I will also focus on not being such a wimp through all this.

Well, surgery is rescheduled for next Tuesday on the achilles tendon. One more weigh in before 6 weeks of only standing on one foot w/crutches. Upper body weight lifting only for the next several weeks. May see weight gain as I put on muscle. I hope cutting back even more on intake, and staying focused on ONLY healthy intake.

Blew out my achilles tendon today playing racquetball. Looks like my exercise will come from the crutches for the next 6 weeks. Good thing I have a great hold on a properly balanced diet of healthy foods. It's becoming who I am. I heard myself say, I'll never eat at McDonalds again.
