What can I put in my coffee?
Stevia drops. There are several brands out there. Now brands has many flavors with zero calories. Shop Amazon for best prices, some brands are ridiculously expensive.

21 Day Fit
Simular to what I'm doing now. Very happy with the results so far and the total lack of cravings. I'm going with a Atkins/Paleo hybrid of sorts. If it's not Atkins it is at least Paleo and vice versa. Down 20 in about 6 weeks.

Bone Broth Cleanse + Recipe
Organic is the way to go if you can find it and afford it. My veggies were but bones were not. While that is better for you, I can attest to the fact that the benifits are still huge with even just store bought Consome. The first few days of my Bone Broth cleanse was actually Beef Broth or Consome and the effects were noticable. My home made stuff is far more filling and you can even thin it out 50/50 with water and it thicker than store bought.

Bone Broth Cleanse + Recipe
Awhile back, after losing 20lbs, I fell off the Atkins Wagon.Sad

I was 30 lbs short of my goal, but all sorts of crazy was going on in my life between health, stress etc and diet was the last thing on my mind. However, I was fortunate enough to maintain the 20 I lost over the last year or so.

For the last couple of months I have been feeling real crappy. Terrible sleep, dragging myself out of bed in the morning, foggy memory, and horrible cravings all day, so I decided to try something new, a bone broth fast/cleanse.

I started last Tuesday and I am down 7lbs so far and feel great with zero cravings, waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed an hour earlier than I need to be, and very energetic. Initially I simply used store bought Beef Broth and Beef Consomme with 2 tbsp of extra virgin coconut oil added. I believe the Coconut oil was what really got my energy up getting my body switched to fat burning instantly. As for cravings, I stopped using any artificial sweeteners and I think that helped a bit as well.

Essentially I consume 1 qt of broth + 2 tbsn of coconut oil from 6AM to 10 AM. Lunch is a small salad and a protein (hard boiled egg or a small amount of chicken). Mid-afternoon snack is a small package of smoked almonds. Dinner is 6 non breaded hot wings. Also I am drinking 2qts of water a day, and a quart of unsweetend green tea. Evening is vodka water and lemon.(which replaced the Beer Cool )

Friday I decided to make my own broth so that I was getting the best of the best nutrition wise, and packing it with as many minerals as I could. I tried to submit this to recipes, but the program just doesn't understand the quantities. So here it goes.

4 lbs Beef Soup Bones
3 lbs Beef Neck Bones
2 lbs Pork Neck Bones
1.5 lbs Chicken Giblets (this included 6 feet and 2 necks)
1 bulb of Garlic (12 ish cloves)
4 medium Carrots
1-6 oz can of Tomato Paste
4 stalks of Celery
1-8 oz package of Mushrooms
1 bunch of Spinach
4 Tbsp Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp Himalayan Pink Salt(to start, +2 more to my taste)
2 Tbsp Celtic Sea Salt (to start, +2 more to my taste)
1 sheet Gimme Organic Roasted Seaweed
4 Bay Leaves
2 Tbsp Black Peppercorns
2 Tbsp Crushed Red Pepper
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil.
Filtered water to cover

I used a large 15 qt Pressure Cooker and this recipe filled it to the top.

The first 5 ingredients were spread out on a tray and roasted @ 450 F, for 45 minutes. I then added the coconut oil to the bottom of the pot and sauteed the spices until fragrant and added the celery, mushrooms, and seaweed. I layered the bones so the the Beef Soup Bones were on the bottom, and the Beef Neck were on top and on the very top the Spinach. Pressure Cooked it all at 15 lb for 15 minutes.

When it was cool enough to open, I removed the spinach and the meat from the Beef Neck bones and ate that for lunch. Put the lid back on and cooked at 15 psi for 90 minutes. When the pressure was down, I topped it off with more water and let it simmer a few more hours under no pressure. I then strained the broth into (5) 1.5 Qt Ziploc containers and put them in the fridge. Why so little? 1st the amount of bones really filled up the pot, and secondly, the wife and I consumed at least a quart while it was simmering.

But wait, there's more...

After straining the broth, I tasted some of the meat bits left behind and discovered there was quite a bit of flavor left in it, which surprised me. I can only assume that the water became fully saturated and could no longer absorb any more from the ingredients. So I transferred the bones and the remnants of the other ingredients back into the pot, added more of the seasonings and another sheet of seaweed, topped it of with water and let it simmer on the stove.

Well here we are 24 hours later and while it is not as dark of a brown as the first batch, it is darker than any store bought broth I have had. I will use this as a base for soup, which I plan to transition to after the broth fast.

This stuff is awesome. It was the first time I have used seaweed so I only used one sheet fearing there would be a fishy taste. There is no hint of it, so next time around I will try two. I will also double the Peppercorns and Crushed Red Pepper, other than that I couldn't be happier with the flavor.

The rendered fat that solidified after a night in the fridge will be used for sauteing.

If your in a rut, give it a try, It is good to change things up once in awhile. It has put me back on the the Atkins Wagon and I have decided that if I do cheat, it will at least be Paleo friendly.

Good Luck, YMMV
