Hey All!
I am a 37 year old woman , newly diagnosed with diabetes and an underactive thyroid. I hate change and suffer from depression and anxiety; which pretty much means that I am a slug. I currently am 4ft 10' and weigh 218 pds, making me all belly. I am looking for support as I make this lifestyle change and lose some weight.

Under Active Thyroid buddies??
I am sorry it is called nongoitregenic fruits and vegetables, apparently there are a list of fruits and vegetables that would be better if you didnt eat them.. as far as i can tell there are only 12 of them. Here is the link to the site i read it at:
http://www.livestrong.com/article/461742-list-of-non-goitrogenic-foods/
hope this helps.

Allow me to introduce myself.
Hi, I am really new to this site ( I mean like 60 mins new..lol) and am looking to talk to people who are trying to lose weight. My particular challenges are an underactive thyroid and diabetes. F>Y>I I am new to both of these challenges. I am a little bit resentful that I have to make lifestyle changes as I am quite rigid with my usual daily schedule and am quite opposed to change until I get used to it. Get at me!Smile

Under Active Thyroid buddies??
I am newly diagnosed with an underactive thryoid and diabetes. I am looking for any information anyone has as to how I should handle the unique nurtitional challenges of both conditions at the same time. I have read quite abit about goitregenic foods. But to be honest I havent a clue as to its validity. Any one interested in talking?

Breakfast
I make a quick smoothy every morning. It is a simple recipe. I use
1/4c. frozen fruit
1/4c. low fat greek yogurt
1/2c. almond breeze non dairy milk.
2tbsp. milled flax seed.
This is very low in sugar and carbs and is a perfect way to drink your breakfast.
