I'm 58 years old and menopause sent me up the scale big time. My cholestrol was 227 and my sleeping habits sucked. I hated myself and felt like I was a fat old lady. I had always been up and down on weight but not like this. The change really does a number on ones body unless you can be on top of it from day one with exercise. Exercise is the key no doubt.

After a visit from my one and only precious daughter who is 37 I decided that's it. She left a message on my mirror and after realizing I couldn't wipe her "footprints" off the mirror I would do what she suggested and that was get the weight off. Now I'm waiting for her next visit so she can wash my mirror! That was June 28 2007 at 162 size 14.

I started eating 1200 calories a day and spreading that amount out every two hours over a 24hr. period. I began walking 4-1/2 miles every single day except a stretch of 7 days in Nov. where I couldn't walk. I actually lost 2 pounds that stretch too! Which tells me once you develop a lifestyle change of good habits your body remembers it and will stay running for quite awhile on that mindset.

December 1st I had reached 122lbs. size 4 and my cholestrol was down to 159. My goal now is 118.

If anyone is out there going through menopause. You can lose it! I did.
