I am a true Southern girl, born in Nashville Tennessee but grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and Vienna, Georgia. My family ate a lot of fresh wonderful food but in the south it just ain't cookin' if it doesn't include bacon, bacon grease, or a lot of sugar (of some kind). I have always had a weight problem and have done the YO YO ho hum my whole life. I am almost 51and decided it was time to do something for ME! I have been the little sister who ate everything both my older brothers ate and I have been a daughter, a wife, a mother and now a grandmother. I have watched friends pass away, my father and a brother and fell into more of a depression and gained more and more weight. Finally I took the step and had Gastric Sleeve Surgery on November 4, 2015. It is now February 26, 2016 and I am down to 225 from my highest at 274. The surgery is a great tool but believe me.... it is still not easy and there is a lot to this both mentally and physically. The things in life worth having aren't free or easy but here I am on this journey to find the new me and a worth while life. Here i am in 2018 and still searching for my worth while life. I have found that i have put away the fork and changed one addiction for another. Wine tends to be my food of choice these days and with the surgery the two don't really go hand in hand. I am going down a hard road right now and don't know what to do. But each day i guess i will just keep trying to do what i can and keep going. I am down to between 190 and 195 it kind of changes from week to week between one day it is 191 and the next it is 194 and then then next it is 193 but I think that depends on what i have eaten the day before .... but here i am so therefore i will keep going.
