017's Journal, 04 April 2010

I am finally back into my 160s!! So excited. I've just got my toe into it with 169.5 but I'm there! So I've lost 14.5 lbs from my high of 184 but for the USANA contest my starting weight was 181 so I've lost 11.5 from there.

I have dropped on size, from a 16 to a 14 which is very exciting. Not that I want to be a size 14 but I'm moving in the right direction.

I finally got my water rower and we have set it up! I'm looking forward to being able to work out more this week. I figure April I will be in my 160s but for May I'll be in my 150s which will be so wonderful!!! In my mind I'm kind of assigning each month a "decade":

April 160s (size 14)
May 150s (size 12)
June 140s (size 10)
July 130s (size 6/8)
August 120s (size 4/6)
September 110s (size 2/4)

GOAL: 115lbs. I'm only 5'2" so this goal weight puts me in the "normal" BMI zone. Right now my BMI puts me in the obese zone @ 30.9.

It may not go exactly this way but @ least I have a road map to follow that shows me how all the little 1-2 lb losses equals something more substantial.

Our 5-year wedding anniversary is in December and I really want to go to Bora Bora for a honeymoon we never had. For the past several years I have been telling my hubby that I want to go to Bora Bora. It's a long trip, would me 10 days off work and would be pretty expensive. I only want to go, however, when I am swimsuit ready. At my weight now I am not - however, with my goal weight I will be!

I have even bought two swimsuits that I love to help me visualize my new Bora Bora swimsuit ready body. Last year I asked my hubby, "If I lose my weight, can we please go to Bora Bora?" He hesitated and I said, "Look, it's not like it is going to happen tomorrow." He said he would think about it. So every now and again I will throw something into our conversation about going to Bora Bora just as a reminder to him that the 5-year is coming up and I am losing weight and still want to go.

In June I plan on getting our passports - I feel like he needs to "see" my weight loss results. Right now he can't - when you have 50-60lbs to lose, there is no real physical difference in dropping just 10.

Hopefully as I lose the next 10-15 he will start to see the physical changes in my body. I hope my dedication will also be on display to him. Month to month as he sees that, I hope it will convince him to plan the honeymoon we never had.
169.5 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 52.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Yeah for you! I too recently dipped into my 160's and it was exciting for me also. I'm on about the same plan as you although I'm just shooting for 140 (I'm 5'4 so that is my healthy BMI range). I also started out at 188 so I'm down about 20 and now I'm finally feeling the difference. 28-30 more to go for me too! Good Luck to you too.
