This weekend was really hard. I almost caved in on Saturday. I was even preparing my cheater lunch - BBQ Brisket sandwich and Potatoes Au Grautin. Well it was noon and I hadn't ate a thing all day because I had been very busy. I think it is so important to not forget to eat because when your hunger catches up to Beware! So I make my no no meal but while I was preparing it I snacked on some cheese and drank a huge glass of water. Well by the time my bad meal was ready I had found my will power again and ate something else and my husband & kids ate the other meal I made. I have lost 5 pounds so far in 5 days. I can't complain about that. I am not following strict induction however. I am letting myself have low carb tortilla shells. I know I won't lose weight quite as fast but it helps me stick to it because I can have wraps or fajitas etc. Good Luck to everyone! I can't wait until I start to see the weight loss in my clothes!!! :)
278.0 lb Lost so far: 10.0 lb.    Still to go: 123.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 7.0 lb a week

Sounds like you're doing pretty well. I would recommend that you not have a cheat meal as that can be enough to get you out of lipolysis which you DON'T want to do. Remember that it can take up to 3 days to get into lipolysis in the first place so why would you want to stop it and then have to start all over? You need to look at this as a lifestyle change rather than a temporary diet. If you go back to eating the way you did before Atkins you will gain the weight back since that is how you got heavy in the first place. I don't mean to be a "black cloud" here but this is something that has been proven again and again. One of the things that I have done is to buy plenty of cookbooks and find recipies for "decarbed" versions of some of my favorite foods. Then I still get to eat many of my favorites and they are sooo much better for my health. You CAN do this! Good luck and stay focused on the big picture, which is a lifetime of good health!!

Well done for not caving in!! You deserve full marks for having willpower! You will realise it is all worth it when you are feeling truly good about yourself and your clothes start to seem a little bigger :) I have two young children to prepare meals for (and snacks) throughout the day and I have now learnt that I must keep a glass of water with me during these time otherwise I tend to have 'nibbles'. A few little nibbles add up to a whole lot! You are doing great so good luck and remember that we CAN do this! :)

If you can lose weight that way, then go for it. If you find that you are not losing or losing too slowly, then you know what you have to cut out. I am starting to enjoy fajita meat w/o the wraps and taco salad instead of tacos. I have to count my carbs in order to lose weight but some people don't. Good luck. BTW, I don't recommend having cheat days during induction anyway, you may want to read up on what Atkins says about that and why it is a bad idea.
