I am starting today - Atkins. I went to the store last night and bought all the stuff I needed to get me through the week. I am very excited about losing weight again. Last year I lost 11 pounds during the first week and I really hope the same happens this time. I have a goal in mind. We are planning on buying a boat this summer and I want to be able to wear a bathingsuit or at the very least shorts and feel comfortable in them. I want this to be a lifestyle change and I can't wait to start losing. Luckily with Atkins you don't have to wait long.
283.5 lb Lost so far: 4.5 lb.    Still to go: 128.5 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
gaining 0.5 lb a week

I'm with you. I also started (again) today. I waivered back and forth this past weekend between South Beach and Atkins and decided Atkins works better for me. The only problem I have is giving up Caffiene. That is the hardest.

I just read what I consider to be good news for me anyway.. According the Atkins Web Site, Coffee and Tea with caffeine is now on the allowed list with this disclaimer: * Caffeine can cause cravings or blood sugar spikes with some people. If you’re one of them, you should drink only decaffeinated beverages. If you don’t have a problem with caffeine, you may drink one or two caffeinated beverages a day, because evolving research indicates there may actually be health benefits to a limited amount of caffeine. However, if you have a true caffeine addiction, it will be best to break it during Induction, because any food addiction can cause problems if it isn’t taken care of. Once you’ve broken the addiction and moved on to OWL, you can carefully try adding caffeinated beverages back into your food intake, as long as it doesn’t trigger the addiction again."
