makparis's Journal, 08 March 2010

To be honest I did not do very well this week. I ate too much, I didn't exercise. It wasn't a good week personally either - my son is having issues, my house has been invaded and professionally things aren't going so well. I ask you to pray for me, patience and rest in God as I try to remind myself to let Him handle it because when I do I screw everything up.

Anyways, I'm hopeful for the future. School is going really well, awesomely well as a matter of fact. My mom is doing great, she just reached a 10 lbs loss and I'm so happy for her. My son brought up his grades and my niece is working hard to do the same. So the future is bright, I just have to remember God has plans to prosper me and is always protecting me.

7 Things I'm Grateful For:

1. Girl time - My niece has been struggling a lot lately, I think it comes standard with the teenage years. Her friends are fighting, she's got crushes, she's getting teased, struggling with homework and is fighting with her mom a lot. So, Saturday I took her to lunch, it was great. Just the two of us talking, I tried to be a sounding board while still angling her in a good direction.

2. Puppies - My house has been invaded. My nephew-in-law was evicted from his apartment last weekend and he along with my great-niece and nephew moved into my basement. They brought a tiny little mini-chihuaha/jack russell baby puppy with them. It's smaller than my foot!! But it looks just like my big mutt dog and they both look like Scooby Doo. It's hilarious.

3. Small Towns/Cities - A friend of mine is moving to Portland, way too big for me. I love my little city and I'm glad it's him moving and not me.

4. iPod with headphones - Because I can be sitting in my dining room and at the same time be at a concert!! Oh yeah!!

5. Rick Riordan - Author of the Percy Jackson series. I appreciate his books. My son and I are currently reading them to each other and quite enjoying them.

6. Backpacks - A life saver for all students and beyond!!

7. Devotionals - That God for daily devotionals that help put life, scripture and faith into perspective.

I wish you all a wonderful week.
