I am really really horrible. I started Atkins January 1, 2007. I lost 49 pounds by mid April then stopped trying. So I have gained it all back and then some. I am going to start January 1, 2008. I would start now but with the holidays I don't want have to worry about what I eat. Happy Thanksgiving!
275.0 lb Lost so far: 13.0 lb.    Still to go: 120.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Hang in there. I know how tough it is. I just turned 50 years old! Now I know what they mean by it getting tougher the older you get to loose weight. It's the change in metabolisim from what I've read. I too am looking for the right starting point. It seems like every time I set a start date for getting " are me making execuses. Eventually I will talk my self into getting really serious. I plan on looking at taking the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to start induction over. My family is planning a get together on the 22nd to have our Christmas dinner, so I'm looking an opportunity starting Dec 3. That gives me a good three weeks. That should push me over the Christmas New Year's hump. Good Luck to you. My daughter's name is Amanda by the way.

Don't let one or two holidays in the Winter set you back for three months. A diet won't work long-term unless you make it a way of life. None of us can go back to eating the way we used to if we want to keep it off. I found that if I watch what I eat up until the holiday I don't have as much guilt on those days if I eat what I want to. Just a suggestion. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Hey, I have a similar story as well, I lost 80lbs kept it off until thanksgiving came, it was over after that. Thats been a few years ago. Now im on it again and determined not to mess up, I preparining my own dishes this year to make sure I don't. If you fel you need to start back in January then you do that, just be sure that you do and not to let anything change that. The longer you put it off the more comfortable it will be to do that. I wish you the ULTIMATE BEST!!!!!! Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!!
